Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Colombo

Arrive in Colombo and meet your private guide, who will transfer you to your hotel. Spend the day exploring the city and visiting some main attractions, such as the National Museum, Independence Square, and the Galle Face Green. Return to your hotel for a delicious dinner.

Day 2: Venturing to Kandy

Set on a three-hour drive to Kandy, crossing many rural villages. Check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring the city. Visit the Temple of the Tooth, which is a sacred Buddhist temple that houses the tooth relic of the Buddha. In the evening, attend a cultural show at the Kandy Lake Club or watch a traditional Kandyan dance performance.

Day 3: Kandy Exploration

Start the day with a visit to the Royal Botanic Gardens, a beautiful park with a wide variety of plants and trees. In the afternoon, take a trip to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can see elephants being fed and bathed. In the evening, enjoy a boat ride on Kandy Lake and watch the sunset over the city.

Day 4: Traversing to Sigiriya

Journey two hours to Sigiriya, passing via the impressive caves in Dambulla. Walk to the top of the hill and enjoy the views of the surrounding plains before you explore these beautiful temples. Enjoy an overnight stay in Sigiriya, situated in Sri Lanka's cultural triangle.

Day 5: Exploring Sigiriya

Explore the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress this morning,  and the nearby ancient city of Polonnaruwa, with your private guide and explore the Polonnaruwa ruins. Have a traditional lunch and journey to Passikudah for another hour, and check into your luxurious hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. 

Day 6: A Free Day in Passikudah

Spend your leisure time on the Passikudah beach and get a luxury spa. Go on a days excursions to a local fishing village, observe the local culture, and taste some Srilankan cuisines and wine before returning to your hotel for an elaborate dinner.

Day 7: Traveling to Pallepola

After breakfast, get a private transfer to Pallepola (a three-hour drive) and check into a farm stay which is more lavish than it sounds. Visit Sigiriya Rock with your private guide, who will be able to narrate the history of the rock as you praise the views from the top.

Day 8: A Tour of Pallepola

Today, get ready to visit nearby Aluvihara and Matale. In Aluvihara, explore the rock temple, which is considered to date back to the 1st Century BC. Then, visit Sri Muthu Mariamman Temple in Matale. Spend the evening at the famous spice markets and enjoy exploring unique cafes and restaurants. Have a delicious dinner before returning to the farm stay.

Day 9: Heading to Nuwara Eliya

Hop on a four-hour drive to Nuwara Eliya, a picturesque town in the hills of central Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring the city. Take a walk around town and admire the colonial-style buildings and the beautiful views of the surrounding hills. 

Day 10: Walking Tour of Nuwara Eliya

This morning, your guide will take you to a local tea factory. Enjoy observing the leaves being plucked by hand in the tea fields and sample the variety of teas. Take a days tour to the Hakgala Botanical Gardens, a beautiful park with a wide variety of plants and trees. In the evening, return to your hotel for a delicious dinner.

Day 11: Travel to Ella

Hop on a one-hour and thirty-minute drive to a small town, Ella, situated in the hills of southern Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring the area. Visit Little Adam's Peak, a small mountain with beautiful views of the surrounding hills and valleys. In the evening, visit the Yala National Park, one of the largest national parks in Sri Lanka. Take a jeep safari to see the wildlife, including elephants, leopards, and crocodiles. Return to the hotel for dinner. 

Day 12: One-Day Tour of Galle

Make your way south (a three-hour drive) along the coastline to Galle. Check into your hotel. You will explore several magnificent waterfalls on the way. Visit the Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a well-preserved example of Dutch colonial architecture. In the evening, take a walk along the promenade and watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean. Return to the hotel. 

Day 13: Returning to Colombo

This morning, you leave Galle and will be driven north along the coastline to your accommodation back in Colombo (two and a half-hour drive). Remaining of the day at your leisure. 

Day 14: Departure Back Home

After breakfast, you will meet your private guide at the hotel lobby and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
