Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival Happening In July

The park displays creative topiaries of Disney characters to rare flowers in the floral-themed parkland. Visitors can take up hotels at Disney World and explore the garden. They get to meet the gardeners who crafted their masterpieces on display and even get some tips for their home gardens. The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is one of the world’s top festivals. Several companies offer leisure travel packages provided to Disney’s Epcot Festival.

What is the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival?

In 1994, Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival was held at Bay Lake, Florida, in O-town. In 2015, after introducing the movie ‘Frozen,’ the park has been going through some massive changes. As per Disney executives, Epcot is reconstructing Disney Park’s olden days. New dining locations, retail stores, and attractions are being constructed as of 2021.

But one of the world’s top festivals isn’t just about horticulture and gardening; it is also about food. One has the chance to try a variety of cuisines while basking under the whiff of freshly bloomed flowers.

In 2020, the top festivals began on 2nd March but were ended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

When does it take place?

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival commences in the Spring season. Typically, from March to June. However, in 2021 the festival began on March 3rd and will run till July 5th.

The 28th Annual Epcot Flower & Garden Festival started a day earlier than other years. And it shall run a month longer as well. They were making it the longest ever Flower and Garden Festival.

What are the charges?

You will not be charged additionally for the flower and topiaries. Primarily, everything is included in the standard admission at one of Epcot’s top festivals. Food, however, is not included. There are a few events during the festival that will cost you, should you choose to attend them.

Leisure travel packages offer to give options to customers to choose the plan they wish to pursue.

Prices:

Standard Theme Park Ticket between 1 to 10-day visit for people above ten starts from $109.00 per day for a per ticket.

The condition is that one can visit one theme per day. Also, Disney’s promo is that if you wish to stay for longer, you will be paying less for each day. (Check Disney website for more.)

What is the best time to go to Epcot?

Usually, you should avoid festival days or weekends. The park is packed on these, and sometimes, kids from school are on school trips.

But as per observation, Mondays and Wednesdays are far less busy than the others at one of the world’s top festivals.

Things Not to Miss at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

Following are some of the attractions you simply must not miss at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. At this top festival, make sure you add these spots to your itinerary for leisure travel packages.

1. Topiaries Based on Disney Themes

Having almost 100 illustrious topiaries based on Disney characters, the art of gardening employed to create these is simply fascinating. At every turn, there is a surprise waiting for you. Keep an eye out for the older topiaries such as Snow White & Dopey in Germany and Lady and the Tramp in Italy. Don’t be fooled. Just because they are old doesn’t mean they are not in top condition. After all, this is one of the top festivals worldwide.

New additions to the park are Belle, Beast, Donald Duck, Dewey, Louise, Buzz Aldrin, The Three Caballeros, and characters from Frozen.

2. Exhibits and Gardens

Hundreds of horticulturists come together to make these gardens bloom during the spring season. The exquisite smell of the flowers wafts through the air as you walk through the exhibits. Making the flowers bloom for the festival takes almost a year and a dedicated team.

Many of the flowers are repeated; sometimes, they add newer species. The exhibit currently has Alpine Containers and Tropical Rainforest Garden as recent additions. Others include Goodness Garden Butterfly House and the Shakespeare Garden in the United Kingdom. The exciting thing about Butterfly House is that as you walk through the exhibit, various species of butterflies will float around you freely. This is a fantastic opportunity to interact with both flora and fauna.

3. Live Music Experience

If you love live music, this is a must-visit spot for you! In place of the Covid-19, the music experience has been minimized to maintain and follow the safety regulations.

Although previously this is one of the top festivals that had music coming to life around the World Showcase. Singers from all around would come to perform at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. It is possible that many leisure travel packages probably will not have a live music experience in the itinerary.

4. Outdoor Kitchens

For all the food-lovers out there, this is it! This is where you want to be. With the freshly plucked ingredients from farms, outdoor kitchens provide food and refreshments to the visitors.

Eighteen outdoor kitchens were introduced this year with the new menu. The ingredients used in the dishes are fresh produce and are located amidst the blooming gardens where you can feel connected to nature. Leisure travel packages suggest one kitchen to dine in as per their preference.

5. Scavenger Hunts

One of the world’s top festivals also includes scavenger hunts. This is a fun way to encourage the families to explore more of the park on their day out.

They have an Easter egg type of hunt named ‘Egg-stravaganza.’ Decorated eggs are hidden all over the park. Disney characters inspire the décor, and the guests have to look for these eggs with the maps and supplies they will have to purchase from retail locations.

Another example is Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration. Gardening lovers will follow Spike on his pollination trails. He will be busy collecting nectar from flowers and pollinating the garden through Epcot. This allows them to discover the other parts of the park they might miss due to the already packed leisure travel packages itinerary.

One more scavenger hunt worth mentioning is the ‘Garden Graze.’ Visitors who will be purchasing five festival menu items from selected locations will receive a complimentary commemorative keepsake. They can pick up the Festival passport to participate in this.

6. Passport for the Flower and Garden Festival

Like the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival has its Passport too. To pick up the passport for one of the world’s top festivals, one has to get one from the park entrance.

7. Retail Stores

That sounds like the most obvious thing, right? But there is one particular store you must visit. It is the Mitsukoshi Department Store in the Japan Pavilion. Following the France pavilion, this is one of the best places to shop for souvenirs. They have all the cute accessories that make them excellent choices for gift-giving, from Japanese footwear, clothing, cards, toys to pet accessories. The shop has it all! Make sure to add this one in your leisure travel packages itinerary for one of the world’s top festivals is awaiting your arrival.
