Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Madagascar

Meet your private guide at Ivato airport, who will transfer you to your hotel, which is situated in Antananarivo. It is the city that is located near the airport and also close to the capital city of Tana. The traffic in the capital city tends to be quite high and can take hours to reach from the airport to the city center. Set off with your guide on an introductory tour of the city. Stroll around the city's lanes and soak in the city's brilliant vibe, culture, and architecture. Enjoy a relaxing shopping trip at Jumbo or Shoprite. Following that, enjoy a lavish dinner at an excellent restaurant before retiring to your resort for the night.

Day 2: Leaving Antananarivo

Today, enjoy an early breakfast before your guide drives you in a private vehicle to avoid the traffic jams you can encounter in Antananarivo. Travel through the scenic routes and notice the stunning natural surroundings. Reach the relaxing city of Antsirabe around the afternoon. Set out on a stroll to explore the city and notice the various attractions that are present there. Then, retire to your resort for the night.

Day 3: Cycling in Antsirabe

Today, set out to explore Antsirable a little more. It is a quaint village situated in the nation's high mountains. Travel on a bicycle through the paths and reach the famous lakes present here. Spend some relaxing time around Lake Tritriva, a deep crater lake. Find that the deep blue water is ice-cold. Your guide will take you around the lake to help you explore the area a little more.

Day 4: Drive to Morondava

Today, enjoy an early breakfast before your guide drives you directly to Morondava. It has one of the best attractions present here, which is Avenue des Baobabs. Ensure that you reach the Avenue des Baobabs by the early evening. This will ensure that you view the stunning sunset immediately.

Day 5: Sunrise in Avenue des Baobabs

Today, wake up at dawn to capture the stunning sunrise at Avenue des Baobabs. Then, enjoy your breakfast before setting out to explore the city in the morning. Enjoy the silent streets because it is not filled with so many tourists in the morning. Then, explore Morondava and its attractions a little more before heading to the stunning beach for some relaxation. Afterward, reach your hotel to enjoy the swimming pool before retiring for the night.

Day 6: Scenic Drive to Belo Sur Mer

Embark on a wonderful adventure on a road trip to Tulear. Your guide will drive you in a private vehicle on a sandy road for about three hours in a quite easy drive. Enjoy the views of the numerous Baobabs that find along the streets, which are nearly as gorgeous as the Avenues des Baobab. Be surprised that the path goes through a river. Learn that there are sticks in the water that tell drivers where they have to drive. The water may sometimes reach the windshield. But the rivers are not too deep here. Come across a large open plain called a salt flat after spending hours on the narrow sandy road enveloped by dense forests.

Notice that your guide tries to avoid driving over the salt flat. This is because a thick layer of clay is under the salt, and the car can easily get stuck. There are tire tracks that lead around this salt flat, which will be followed by the guide. Pass several large salt plains. The last one will be through a type of elevation present between poles. The landscape changes after the salt plains. The forest vanishes and white sand appears. Suddenly, you start to see white houses on the horizon. This means that you have reached Belo Sur Mer.

Day 7: Enjoying Belo Sur Mer

Today, enjoy Belo Sur Mer, a small village by the sea. It is a serene place where you can relish a great sunset and swim as needed. Notice the outskirts of the Kirindy Mite National Park, which is well known for its Baobabs. Also, it is great to visit public shipyards or enjoy a long beach walk. In this place, ships are developed in a traditional manner, similar to the design of Dutch ships that were present in the earlier centuries.

Day 8: Reaching Manja

Today, your guide will drive you in a private vehicle to reach the village of Manja. Enjoy off-roading on the drive because there are many parts of the journey where there are no proper roads. During the final hour of the drive, drive on a good dirt road to reach Manja. Retire for the night in the only hotel that is present here, which is Kanto Manja, and enjoy the local cuisines present here.
