Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Siem Reap - A tour of Angkor Complex

This is the first day of your Cambodia tour itinerary! It has been planned in a way that you could begin a little earlier to see Sunrise at Angkor Wat at around 5:30 am. You have a whole day to explore the beautiful temples at Angkor. A great treat to all those history and archeology lovers would be the Angkor Wat of the 12th century, Ta Prohm Temple, the Terrace of Elephants, and the Bayon Temple.

Day 2: Siem Reap - Koh Ker & Beng Mealea

On the second day of your Cambodia tour itinerary, it will a perfect idea to begin your trip at around 7 am. And, it’s 90 minutes driving distance from the main city! You can then have your lunch at the Koh Ker temple. After which, you will be driving back to Siem Reap, stopping by the beautiful ruined Beng Mealea temple. This temple was built in the Angkor Wat period and is dedicated to the Hindus. But, you will also see here some Buddha motifs here.

Day 3: Preah Vihear Temple – UNESCO World Heritage

You will be escorted by your personal guide from your hotel to the temple. You will need to make it a little earlier in the morning ( 7 am) so that you can get a whole complete day visiting this heritage of the world. It will take around 3 hours to drive to the North (Preah Vihear Temple). On the way, you will get to see some of the towns, and that will give you reason to travel to Cambodia. And, it’s worth spending 3 hours exploring the culture, history and other story related to the temple. Once you are done, you can move towards Tamok house. Ta Mok was soldier chief in the Cambodian military.

Day 4: Preah Khan Kampong Svay

On the fourth day of your Cambodia tour, you can head towards the Preah Khan Kampong Svay, after having breakfast. And, it’s a delightful experience learning about the history, culture and other interesting stories related to the temple. The temple is a distance of 100 km in the Eastern direction of the Angkor, in Preah Vihear province, Cambodia. You will be spending your night at the Kampong Thom province.

Day 5: Sambo Preykuk Temple

On the fifth day of the Cambodia tour itinerary, you will be heading towards the Sambo Preykuk Temple. Sambo Preykuk is the historical site situated in the Sambo village and is at a distance of 25 ms from the Kampong Thom provincial town. This whole day will be dedicated to strolling through the ruined edifices of the Pre-Angkorian Chenla Kingdom. It was built during the reign of the king Isanavarman. It has also been included in Governments’ tentative list of UNESCO world heritage sites. A number of temples that were built here, were constructed using the laterites, solid bricks, and sandstones. Once you are here. You will get to know a variety of interesting stories.

Day 6 & 7: Phnom Penh Tour

You have two complete days at Phnom Penh!  On your sixth day in Phnom Penh, begin by visiting the National Museum and the Royal Palace. Phnom Penh in itself a historically rich city and the capital of Cambodia. It is beautifully situated at the confluence of the Tonlé Sap and Mekong rivers. Its rich history comes from the fact that it has been a hub of French colonists as well as the Khmer Empire. Once you are here, you will get to see the variety of Silver Pagoda, Royal Palace, restaurants and bars. On the seventh or the last day of your Phnom Penh Tour, plan out to explore the historical facts of the Prison S21 and the Killing Fields. This will surely proffer a wonderful end to your archaeological and historical Cambodia tour itinerary.
