Belize possess a sparkling combination of seaside and tropical jungle, Caribbean lifestyle, and Mayan culture. As you arrive at Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport in Belize City, a small flight will take you to the Cayo District situated on the banks of the Mopan and Macal Rivers. Your private guide meets you at the baggage claim and escorts you along the narrow road to your beautiful resort.

You and your partner will be greeted with freshly squeezed juice made from berries that grow on the property’s organic farm. You will be given a refreshing peppermint towel. From your room, you will be able to hear the drizzling waters of the Macal River flowing along the banks towards the foothills of the Maya Mountains.

Today morning, you will wake up to the rushing water along the Macal River and birds chirping in the canopy around the edges of the property. At breakfast, you will relish the natural beauty surrounding the property. You and your partner will get to indulge in an organic meal cooked by a renowned chef, accompanied by a freshly brewed cup of coffee. After the breakfast, you meet your private guide who’ll then take you and your partner along a peaceful, secluded trail to the Mayan site of Xunantunich. As you wander through the broadleaf forest, you’ll find traces of howler monkeys along the way. You will finally arrive at Xunantunich. More than 26 temples, as well as palaces, surround a total of 6 plazas. El Castillo stands at the center of the main plaza.

Erected in 800 AD and standing 130 feet tall, it is one of the tallest buildings in Belize. The pyramid rises beneath a series of terraces. The guide will explain that the tree is significant as the roots touch the underworld while the stump remains on earth and the branches to the heavens. Stalactites droop from the cave opening appearing like an open mouth with teeth. You will have to turn on your headlamps to witness the width of the tunnel and its cathedral-like qualities.
