Day 2: Transfer to Huanghuacheng Great Wall section and trekking in the afternoon

On the morning of the second day, you would leave the capital city behind and will head to the countryside to see the Great Wall of China which would take around 3 hours to reach. The area is situated in the northwest of the city and you will be visiting the lesser-known section at Huanghuacheng which is situated by a lake and rather gives a beautiful picture of the area. The name of the area means the Yellow Flower City because during the summer the nearby mountains become completely yellow because of the local wildflowers who are yellow in color. This portion of the wall is the older one and gives a romantic feel to the couples who get swayed by its beauty. People also like the older section more as it gives them the feel of the older times unlike the newly renovated and built ones. The wall was constructed 2000 years old and some of the areas of the walls look as firm as they would have been many years ago. In the afternoon, you will be starting the walk of the wall which would be relatively challenging because of the uneven topography but the views from the top are worth the effort. Once you are done with the trek, you will come back to the guesthouse for the night.

Day 3: Trekking of great wall from Mutianyu to Jiankou, passing many watch towers, trek at Jiankous wild wall and transfer to Gubeikou

Today is going to be a long day because the trek would cover most of the sections today. In the morning, you will take a short drive to reach Mutianyu which is another less visited section and from here the wall gives an impressive sight as well as it snakes across the mountains and valleys to reach the distance and oblivion.

This section is one of the best-preserved section of the Great Wall because the Mutianyu section used to be at the forefront and used to serve as the northern barrier defending the great capital city and the imperial tombs. Here, there are 22 watchtowers of which 20 have been open for the public while two have been sensitive to the area.

The section itself if around 2300 meters long. From here, you will be trekking to Jiankou from where another trek would start in the afternoon after lunch. Once you have had lunch, you will go to the wild section of Jiankou which was built along the mountain edge and remains as one of the wildest sections because of the clinging towers and steepest ridges. So, the highlight for this section would also include spiderman wall or "Sanshibadeng" in Chinese; which would be an optional short vertical climb to reach the top of the wall to see the panoramic view of the area.

This area is also the most photographed section of the Great Wall because of the panoramic views it gives to the viewers as well as due to its unique construction style. you will be walking around 4 km on this section after which you will be transferred to Gubeikou where you will walk another 4 km. check-in here for the night stay.

The height of the section is around seven meters and six meters wide and has five main passes while having 67 watchtowers and two beacon towers as it zig-zags its way through the Big and Small Jinshan Mountains (the Big and Small Jinshan Watchtowers are the highlight). The construction has been made using huge bricks each of them weighing around 12 kilograms or 26 pounds while the section also features which was then used as the section where many weapon stores and soldiers restrooms also functioned from here. You will be traveling to Gubeikou for the night where you can have some tasty traditional dinner.

Day 5: Walking along the Panlongshan section and return to Gubeikou

When you travel to this section, you would be mesmerized to see that this portion has the original essence of the wall and will immediately transport you back in the time of the Han Dynasty which made this section and used it for protection. You will see many watchtowers while the main destination would be to the Unique 24 Window Tower where you can see some of the most beautiful sights of your life. You can have a picnic lunch here on the watchtower and then the walk to go back to the city would begin which will be passed the communal playground and back to the guesthouse for the night.
