Detailed Itinerary

The Antarctica trip is one of the most important tour packages you will ever come across. You will start and end the trip to Ushuaia which is a resort town in Argentina. From here, you embark on a ship that would take you to the North Pole amid all kinds of protection on board. Check out the following itinerary for the details of the trip given here-

Day 1: Arrival in Ushuaia

On the first day of the Antarctica Vacation package, you will be arriving at a small but beautiful resort town of Argentina from where the tour will start. Your tour operators and guide would meet you there and take you to the pre-booked hotel where you will stay for the day. Depending upon the timing of the arrival, you can choose the activities of the day. If you want, you can come out of the hotel and start checking out the resort town. Ushuaia is located on the Tierra del Fuego archipelago which is located on the southernmost tip of South America, nicknamed the “End of the World”. This beautiful town is perched on a steep hill and is surrounded by the Martial Mountains and the Beagle Channel, both of which are tourist attractions in Argentina. This place is important because it is called the Gateway to Antarctica and all the cruises and tour parties to the nearby Isla Yécapasela, known as “Penguin Island” for its penguin colonies start from here.

So, if you have arrived early, you can get to entertain yourself at the ‘End of the World’ with many amusing things to do. You can check out the Museo Maritimo to know the history of the region or maybe take a stroll down to Avenida San Martin if you have to buy anything essential for the trip however you would be advised on what to take to the trip. in the evening, head to a local restaurant to have your fill of the red wine and steak while also munching on the traditional Asado. The briefing for the tour would happen the night after which you can spend the night on your leisure.

Day 2: Embarkation Day from Ushuaia

On the morning of the second day, take a walk down the beautiful streets of the resort town where freshness would welcome you every day. in the afternoon, you will be boarding the Ocean Endeavour where you will settle down in the cabin and check out for the antiques on the trip. The cruise would soon begin down the beautiful Beagle Channel which has been named on the ship of Charles Darwin. This channel transects the Tierra del Fuego archipelago in the extreme south of South America. The ship would pull away from the port and you would be left with extreme anticipation of what to expect the next as you wave bye to Argentina and its beautiful coastline. The next time you see land would have a different experience.

Day 3 and Day 4: Passing the Drake Passage

On the third day of the tour and after cruising for almost 30 hours, you would have come to cross the Drake Passage which is the body of water named after Sir Francis Drake who was a great English Explorer, one of the firsts in the channel. Depending upon the conditions, you can enjoy some time on the deck to check out dolphins, orcas or some Albatross as well whose home fall nearby. In the condition of water being rough, the Ocean Endeavour has been equipped with facilities that you can take the benefit of. There will be a comprehensive lecture program onboard and will run throughout the journey about the safety and will be delivered by the experts in the history, geology, and biology of Antarctica. If the tides and currents prevail, you might make the landfall by the end of Day 4 which would be an exciting moment given that you are on the water for the last 48 hours.

Day 5, Day 6 and Day 7 – Adventure on Antarctic Peninsula

Once you make it to the land of Antarctica, the adventure really begins to come up. You would be waking up to the amazing timelines of Antarctic convergence and the feeling of exploring the Antarctic Peninsula would run high on your mind. Check out the glaciers, mountains and the beautiful yet exotic wildlife as the rawness of the light comes crashing to your minds. Every day on Antarctica is special and challenging as well as you explore the ice-filled bays and channels as Antarctica itself on Zodiac excursions and by foot. The landscape of Antarctica would swipe your mind away but this trip would also be about the wildlife of the area where you can see the Penguins, spot humpbacks and minke whales while keeping an eye for the leopard seals that would be lying around soaking themselves on the sun. You can even hear glaciers creaking through the immense silences and that would be charming yet frightening noise. The area which would be covered would fall around the anchor of the ship as well as the weather conditions prevailing in those areas.

Day 8 and Day 9: Returning Back

On the morning of the eighth day, you would embark on the ship again to say goodbye to all the fun activities that you had on the Antarctic Peninsula as you begin the return back to Ushuaia.
