Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Ljubljana

Meet your private guide at Ljubljana airport, who will transfer you to your hotel. Set off with your guide on an introductory tour of the city. Have a leisurely stroll through the Old Town to soak in the city's atmosphere, sampling foods from street cafes and making your way from one square to another. Try getting an overview of the city and learn some history. End your day with a nice dinner and observing people along the riverbanks, which come alive after dark.

Day 2: A Drive to the coast

This morning, enjoy an early breakfast before your guide drives you in a private vehicle to the coast. Soak in the scenic views on all sides as you enjoy the drive. Discover the Predjama castle and learn more about the history of the royalty that used to live in this nation. Following that, visit the Lipica Stud Farm to enjoy the wonderful horse performance that is very famous in the area.

Day 3: Visiting Piran

Spend a wonderful day amongst the stunning coastlines of Piran.  The town of Piran is tiny, but a visit here is worth a few hours. Do not miss Tartini Square, the piers, and the amazing view from the bell tower. Spend your time swimming from pebbly beaches, sunbathing, and indulging in gelato. Then, go to the Secovlje Salina Nature Park to witness how salt has been harvested for centuries. Along with the museum, find many good guided tours and a chance to try things hands-on.

Day 4: Into the Alps

Enjoy an early breakfast before your guide drives you in a private vehicle for about 5 hours. The town of Kobarid is perfect for history buffs, offering a wonderful WWI museum. Bovec is ideal for adventurists and a hub for outdoor activities such as rafting and climbing.  A hiker's delight is the stretch between the Soca River Valley and Vrsic Pass.

Day 5: Enjoying Lake Bled

Wandering around the lake will be a mesmerizing pastime. Still, a boat ride to the island and a church visit are famous options here. When things get crowded, make your way to nearby Lake Bohinj, which is more nature-oriented and peaceful. Find splendid views from the top of Mount Vogel and several types of boats for rent down on the lakeside. Return to Bled for the evening and head to Bled castle for sunset.

Day 6: Heading to Logarska Dolina

This area is home to several mountains and deep valleys and is truly a scenic delight. Travelers, especially outside of Europe, aren't nearly as widespread here, making the place a quiet and peaceful getaway. Enjoy an amazingly scenic drive on Panoramska Cesta. Relish a farm-fresh lunch that is usually not found in the big cities. Then, spend a few hours hiking amongst the beautiful hills and soak in the natural surroundings at your vantage point.

Day 7: Exploring Eastern Slovenia

Ptuj boasts a castle with a wide collection of the museum, exhibiting everything from portraits to carnival masks to musical instruments. Witness the castle, wander through town, sample something at the wine cellar, and absorb in the thermal springs at one of the many wellness centers. Then, undertake a day trip to Maribor, the second largest city in Slovenia.  It's an amazing option for wine tasting. It is also home to the National Liberation Museum if you are interested in Yugoslavia's history.  In the opposite direction is Celje, a town with an ancient castle exhibiting reenactments on many weekend days and is a delight for families.
