Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Porto

Meet your private guide at the Porto airport, and transfer to your hotel. Once you have arrived and settled in, enjoy an exotic 'welcome' dinner consisting of exquisite local delicacies. Rest up at your hotel and set off on a guided tour to stretch your legs post-flight and get acquainted with the city. 

Day 2: Exploring Porto

Today, make your way on a half-day tour of the city, discovering the historical sites and sampling the delicious local food and drinks. Later in the afternoon, embark on a cruise down the Douro River, which will be accompanied by a traditional Portuguese lunch. Afterward, spend your afternoon visiting the port wine caves situated in Vila Nova de Gaia, just across the river from Porto.

Day 3: Visiting Covas do Douro

After breakfast, head north from Porto, making your way toward the Douro Valley. This is one of the oldest and most celebrated wine regions in the world, having a stop at Braga and Guimares, which happens to be the birthplace of Portugal's first king. In Guimares. Traverse through the main town, while in Braga, you'll get the opportunity to admire Bom Jesus, a cathedral situated high above the city. Later, return back to your hotel in the Douro Valley.

Day 4: More Time in Covas do Douro

Today, spend your day touring some of the best wine producers in Douro Valley. Start your journey with a wine tasting, which is followed by a cruise down the scenic Douro River in order to reach a second winery for lunch and another tasting. Continue on to a third and final winery and tasting before you return back to your hotel for some relaxation.

Day 5: A Day in Sintra

Today, leave the Douro Valley and head south to Sintra, situated not far outside of Lisbon. Spend your entire evening strolling through the city. One of Portugal's most stunning and distinctive cities, Sintra is unquestionably worthwhile to visit. With castles straight out of a dream and the most exquisite gardens. Enjoy 

Day 6: Heading to Lisbon

Sintra is famous for its grand architectural style. Uncover the mythological symbols in the Quinta da Regaleira, which form a fairy-tale atmosphere, and take in stunning views from towering viewpoints at the Palcio da Pena and Palcio Nacional. Later, continue on to Lisbon, where you'll spend the night.

Day 7: Another Day in Lisbon

Uncover Portugal's lively capital city on a full-day tour today. Start by wandering through Lisbon's shopping districts and delightful waterfront and tasting traditional Portuguese food and drink on the way. Later, make your way out to Lisbon's outer district, Belm, which is famous for its eponymous tower and the Jernimos Monastery.

Day 8: More Fun in Lisbon

Today, traverse slightly north of Lisbon to Estremadura. Starting your day in Batalha, get to tour the UNESCO-listed monastery, the Capelas Imperfeitas, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Continue on to a second UNESCO-listed monastery located in Alcobaa. Move further on to your final stop of the day, bidos. Enjoy lunch among the cobblestone streets. Relish some free time here before returning back to Lisbon.

Day 9: One-Day Tour of evora

Today, discover another region of Portugal as you head east of Lisbon to the Alentejo, stopping en route to visit the Cromeleque dos Almendres. The monolithic stones here make up the largest group of menhirs on the Iberian Peninsula. Once you have absorbed the majesty of the site, move further on to your hotel situated in the capital of the Alentejo, vora.

Day 10: Traversing to Moncarapacho

Today, make your way through Portugal, traversing south to the sunny Algarve along the coast. En route from vora, take a halt at a countryside winery and meet the family that runs it and relish a short tour and tasting, which is later accompanied by a traditional lunch. After the lunch and tour, move on to your hotel located in the Algarve.

Day 11: Cooking Session in Moncarapacho

One of Algarve's most typical dishes is cataplana, which is basically a seafood dish named for the pot in which it is prepared. Today, get an opportunity to earn how the dish is prepared. Meet your professional chef-teacher and shop for the ingredients. Later, head back to the kitchen for a cooking session. Relish the appetizing results over a glass of wine and finally return back to your hotel.

Day 12: Adventure in Moncarapacho

The exceptional coastline of Algarve is best enjoyed up close. Explore the Agarve coastline today on a coastal hike tour. Start in Lagos, wander along aesthetic cliffs, swim in the turquoise waters of sandy beaches, and take a short boat trip in order to get a closer look at seaside stone arches and grottoes. After hiking, enjoy some relaxing time at your hotel or head to the water for one last beach day.

Day 13: Departure

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the airport for your international departure.
