Day 1: Arrival in Porto

Porto is a captivating and lively city that is quickly becoming one of the most respected tourist destinations in Western Europe. The city boasts a substantial history, fascinating tourist attractions, a buzzing nightlife, and extraordinary tourist facilities. There is a lot to do and see in Porto, and this varied city will attract a wide range of tourists from all over the globe.

Your Portugal journey begins as you arrive in Porto, the second city of Portugal, where you'll be met by your private guide and transferred to your centrally located hotel. After check-in, spend the afternoon at leisure and soak in the vibe of the city.

Day 2: Exploring Porto

Porto is a historic and diverse city, from the warren of narrow streets that make up the medieval Ribeira district through to the grand plaza of the Trindade district. The region is known for the production of Port, which is still stored and matured in the huge cellars that stretch along the banks of the Douro River.

Today, you’ll get a panoramic view of the city as you uncover Porto on foot and by car, venturing through the historical heart before you’ll be driven down to the Foz do Douro and across the river to Vila Nova de Gaia. Witness the whole of Porto here from the Serra do Pilar viewpoint before you’ll be driven down to the marina to embark on your private lunch cruise down the Douro River. Upon reaching back in Vila Nova de Gaia, you’ll be driven to one of the port wine caves for a private tasting before you return back to your hotel.

Day 3: Visiting Lamego

This morning, you’ll bid goodbye to Porto and make your way north to the Douro Valley. En route, you’ll stop in the countryside for a private cooking experience and to learn about traditional meals while enjoying lunch in a family home. After lunch, you’ll continue north to check in at the Six Senses Douro Valley, the lavish spa brand's first hotel in Europe.

Day 4: A Winery Tour in Lamego

Today, explore the hills and vineyards of the Douro Valley and get the opportunity to taste wines at some of the best producers of the region. Start your day with a port winery tour and tasting before you make your way to a winery with panoramic views for lunch. There will be enough time to fit in a final tasting on the way back to your hotel.

Day 5: Heading to Sintra

Today morning, you’ll depart the Douro Valley and travel south to Sintra, where you'll have the entire day to either relax in your hotel or stroll the town.

Day 6: Exploring Sintra

A picturesque Portuguese town, Sintra is situated amidst the pine-covered hills of the Serra de Sintra. The variety of captivating historic buildings and marvelous scenery has established Sintra as a remarkable tourist destination.

Today, you’ll be shown the palaces and gardens of Sintra by your guide. These palaces look as if they have been pulled directly from the pages of a fairy tale. Special highlights include the Quinta da Regaleira, which is designed by an Italian opera set designer, and the Palácio da Pena, which offers wide views of the surrounding area.

Day 7: Venturing to Lisbon

This morning, leave Sintra with your private guide and make your way to Portugal's capital city, Lisbon. After you check in at your hotel and settle in, your guide will take you on a tour of the area. Start by strolling the streets of central Lisbon, tasting local delicacies on your way. Later, take an excursion by car to one of the outer districts of Lisbon, Belém, the area from which Vasco da Gama set sail. Witness the elaborately decorated Jerónimos Monastery and Torre de Belém before you return back to your hotel.

Day 8: Cruise Tour in Lisbon

Today, you’ll get to explore Lisbon on your own, revisiting some of the areas you already visited yesterday for more insight or perhaps setting out to explore new areas such as Castello Sao Jorge. Later, in the evening, get on a cruise down the Tagus River where you'll relish light snacks and drinks while taking in the sunset.

Day 9: Visiting Monsaraz

This morning, you’ll venture east from Lisbon to Portugal's Alentejo region. Make your first stop in the capital of the region, Évora, famous for its Roman ruins, Gothic cathedral, and Moorish alleyways, before you continue on to a wine-tasting lunch outside the city.

Day 10: Exploring Monsaraz

The graceful ancient village of Monsaraz retains the magic from medieval times like few others in the world. Made of schist and lime, this place whispers to us, between the echo of our footsteps in its streets. A lot of spectacular stories could be told about its courageous kings, brave people, Knights Templar, and dames of simple beauty.

Today, spend the entire day at leisure relishing the many facilities that your hotel has to offer. You may also borrow a bike to cycle through the sprawling property of the hotel or can also indulge in some pampering at the Suzanne Kaufmann spa.

Day 11: Some More Time in Monsaraz

With another day at leisure at your hotel, you can explore some of the hotel's options which you did not get to experience yesterday. Tour the vineyards of the hotel, culminating in a tasting, or go for some stargazing at night in the observatory.

Day 12: Departure Back Home

Wave a final farewell to Portugal today as you travel from the Alentejo back to Lisbon to catch your international flight back home.
