Day 1 - Welcome To Rwanda

After touching down at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by a representative of the Kigali Serena Hotel and accompanied to your accommodation for the evening. With extremely comfortable rooms, Kigali Serena Hotel has a delightful boutique hotel feel that combines a sense of history with modern amenities like a sparkling swimming pool and Wi-Fi. Use the night to tuck into a delicious dinner and shake off the jet-lag in preparation for your journey into Volcano National Park tomorrow.

Days 2 to 3 - The Land Of Ancient Volcanoes

With the staff of Gorilla Forest Camp greeting you well, you're collected for your trip to Sabyinyo Volcanic park. The drive from the national capital to Musanze takes about two hours with nice scenery on the way. The drive to Musante takes you through totally different villages and city on the road. Enjoy the scenery of the thousand hills with nice views of valleys and pathways to totally different homes and commercialism centers. Be expectant to fulfill the huge mountain gorillas on your trek after being briefed by ranger guides early morning. We advise that you get enough sleep the day before so that you prepare for both a short hike and a long hike depending on where the gorillas nested.


As the sun rises on Day Eight, so will your intuition for another day of gorilla trekking. Once again, you will be captivated when you find these endangered primates and heartened by knowing that much of their survival depends on ecotourism conservation efforts.

Day 4 - Unwind In Kigali

Having relishing breakfast at Virunga Volcanoes Lodge, your guide drives you into the park in search of another of Africas engaging primates; these time, unique golden monkeys. With their blue faces and bronze coats, they are among the continents loveliest animals and live in troops of up to 30 dynamic individuals. Spotting them is not always easy but well worth the struggle!


After a daybreak in Volcanoes National Park, you leave for the prolific city of Kigali, where you check into the Serena Hotel. Your concluding dinner is hosted at the Milles Collines Hotel, which performed a central role in the Rwandan genocide of the early 1990s and is steeped in history. It is both humbling and encouraging to think how far the country has improved after such devastation.

Day 5 - Winging Your Way Home

After a pleasant night at the Kigali Serena Hotel, relish a leisurely breakfast before taking an illuminating tour of the Rwandan Genocide Memorial and Museum, an intensely moving experience.


This, combined with the marvelous memories you have of viewing gorillas in the wild, joining Batwa people and grabbing sight on playful golden monkeys, will be part of your remembrances permanently as you take off from Kigali International Airport for your flight home.
