Detailed Itinerary

Starting from the capital city of Lima, you will be traveling to more than 7 locations in Peru in your Peru vacation package on an Amazon Riverboat Adventure. Check out the details of the tour here in the following itinerary –

Day 1: Arrival in Lima

On the first day of the Peru vacation package, you will be arriving in the colorful capital city of Lima to start the tour. Here, you will be meeting the tour expert and guide who will take you to the pre-booked hotel where you can refresh and have some meal. You will be helped by the tour operator for your transfer from Jorge Chávez International Airport to Lima which takes usually an hour. Depending on the timing of the arrival, you can also decide on the activities of the day. today would be a light day and hence you would have an optional cooking class where you would be taken to a local market or restaurant to prepare and enjoy a traditional Peruvian meal in presence of an expert.  In the evening, you will also be meeting with the representatives who would give you a detailed account of the trip to follow.

Day 2: Travelling to Iquitos

On the morning of the second day, you would be getting up early for a transfer to catch the morning flight to Iquitos. Once there, you would be transferred to the Amazon Riverboat immediately. This would be a wonderful experience given how detailed the boat is. Onboard, you would relax and soak into the natural beauty of the lake and wild forest around you. This riverboat would commence Iquitos to Pacaya Samiria National Reserve on an Iquitos. Once in a while, come out on the deck to enjoy the riverbanks go by while keeping your eyes open for wildlife such as grey and pink dolphins. There will be guides on board who would help you to lead the jungle walks, give lectures on the historical and environment around you and point out the unique species of bird and marine life as you explore the smaller tributaries of the river. stay the night on the riverboat and enjoy a get together in the night.

Day 3: Visiting Pacaya Samiria National Reserve

You will get up in the serene morning of the Amazon rainforest and head out into the Pacaya Samiria Reserve on board a boat excursion to search for monkeys, sloths, and macaws. In the afternoon, you will be taking a walk through the jungle with experts in the jungle to visit a local tribal community to experience and learn their traditions as well. This would be an exhaustive walk and you would be returning to the boat by the evening. After having dinner, you can opt to go on a night excursion to the Piranha Creek. The activities included for today would be Pacaya Samiria Reserve Birdwatching Excursion, Pacaya Samiria Reserve Wildlife Excursion, and Pacaya Samiria Reserve Land Excursion.

Day 4: Visiting Pacaya Samiria National Reserve

Today would be a day of adventure when you decide to visit the town of Nauta after which the cruise would continue to the Amazon River. In the afternoon, you will be heading for a jungle walk to know about the medicinal plants, search for monkeys and keep an eye out for reptiles.

Day 5: Visiting Pacaya Samiria National Reserve

This trip would have come to a point where adventure seems to be the second definition of it and that is exactly what would be the expectations on the fifth day of the Peru vacation package. In the morning, you would be going on to explore the Amazon river as well as some of its tributaries in the region of Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. You will have a naturalist on board to guide you on various things on the boat and take you through the best of the Amazon adventure. You will have a total itinerary for the day and there would be shore excursions, night excursions, educational lectures, a visit to a local shaman, an indigenous village, and the incredible wildlife of this lush area. The itinerary for the day includes Pacaya-Samiria Reserve Excursion, Ucayali River Walking Excursion, Local Indigenous Family Visit, Local Shaman Visit, and a Night Time Boat Excursion.

Day 6: Last day on the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve and return to Lima

Today would be the last day of the Amazon riverboat excursion and you would be making the most of it today. On the morning of the sixth day, you would be exploring the shorelines by a motorized skiff while looking out for birds, monkeys, and sloths. You will then be traveling to a manatee rescue center to see how they rescue the wild animals and take their care apart from an optional tour to the Choroyacu Wildlife excursion.  In the evening, you would be leaving behind the memories of the rainforest and take a flight to the capital city for an onward journey or departure.

Day 7: Departure from Lima

Today is the last day of the trip and you would bid adieu to one of the most memorable visits of the lifetime. Depending upon the timing of the departure, check out some of the delicacies before your tour operator helps you transfer to the airport for departure.
