Most of the beaches have access via an opening in the jungle. Wish to see more of the astonishing beauty of this area? Then, embark on a tour or go for a fishing trip. There are many small hotels as well as homes available here for rent, just in case you wish to spend some more time here.

Day 3: El Rey Maya Ruins

If you wish to make your way for yet another fascinating archaeological site, then there are numerous fascinating Mayan ruins, EI Rey located just a few minutes away from the Punta Nizuc end of Cancun. It is named after a mask which was found here and is believed to be dedicated to the God Sun. The EI Rey Ruins consists of the remains of about 47 buildings, besides the many tombs that were built by the Mayans from 900AD onwards. The two major platforms with their temples are of particular interest here. They once used to be part of the market and also served as significant ceremonial areas. You must take out some time to visit, and there are many resorts that offer reasonable tours to the site which is also known for the large colonies of iguanas residing here.

Day 4: Isla Mujeres

The Cancun Underwater Museum is situated on the western coast which is a hub for water activities and is also near to coral reef in Garrafon park.

Day 5: The Cancun Underwater Museum

The Cancun Underwater Museum is one of the most bizzare points of interest in this resort town. This seabed-based highlight was founded in 2009 because of the storm damage to the Cancun National Marine Park and is dedicated to the “art of conservation”. It is a pleasure for drivers to explore. Over 500 sculptures are the core of this unique art collection which are spread across 2 underwater galleries immersed at depths of between 3-6 metres and comprising human figures in various poses. In case you do not wish to go for diving, then you can also view this outstanding collection from the comfort of one of the many glass-bottom tour boats that shuttle the waters.

Urbano Kabah Park or Parque Kabah is situated in the heart of Cancun and is also famous as the Kabah Ecological Park. This natural harbour is a famous spot for jogging, strolling, or a picnic. It contains a 2km long trail that cuts via a mix of lush gardens and tall palm trees. Due to its petting zoo and playground, the park is specifically famous for families traveling with kids. There’s also plenty of wildlife to look out for including the raccoon-like coatis, iguanas, deer, peccary (which is a kind of small wild pig) and even the occasional spider monkey. It's an amazing place for bird-watchers, particularly during migration season, when species from as far as Canada and US flock here. Other attractions include the Casa Maya Museum which is a small yet interesting attraction with its history of the region’s development.
