Perfect Day With A Great Group And Friendly Guide

We went to a small group trip to Hunter Valley wine and cheese in Australia last month. We extremely liked the tour. While the drive is a bit long getting out of Sydney, Ben kept the time passing quickly by engaging us all in conversation and doing a good job at previewing the day for us--and telling us about the many wine varieties we'd be sampling. I was really impressed with the vineyard selections--three wineries that don't distribute, so you can only get their wines at the vineyards. This allowed us to bring home some wines that none of our friends have likely ever tasted.

The day also came with a tasty lunch at a great cafe, and we snuck in a fourth wine tasting during our lunch break--convenient that the cafe is next to another delicious winery. The tour also allowed us to stop at a cheese store and a chocolate store. It was a busy itinerary, and I'm impressed that the tour company could fit in so many great stops in a single day.

While we aren't incredibly knowledgeable about wine, we do wine tours in most of the international countries we visit (if they're known for wine), and this was definitely one of the best we've done. All in all, a great day with delicious wine and cheese and chocolate, a great lunch, kangaroo sightings, and incredible landscapes.
