China Travel Review

China was always on my radar since my college days and it finally came true the last year. It was almost a coincidence that my group made that trip to China and I could not thank them enough for that. While making the plan, we stumbled on many sites and finally found all our answers on Leisure. It was a great itinerary and something which we all instantly agreed upon. China has some of the best sites to visit in the world and luckily our travel itinerary covered almost all of them. We requested some customization in our trip and they happily obliged to that gleefully. The travel agent we talked to was helpful in all ways. He was prompt with his answers, always courteous, and it made the choosing part of it actually a learning process. It was very comforting to know that I had 24/7 access to our China tour operator. Mark helped solve many difficulties that arose unexpectedly during our trip and was always pleasant and efficient.

Ours was an out and out two-week tour itinerary for China which covered almost all the parts of China including Hongkong and Tibet as well. Highlights were the Zhang Yimou shows on the West Lake (Hangzhou) and in Lijiang, Yunnan minority show (I think in Kunming), and the Naxi orchestra in Lijiang(most players were older than 80 and still had a twinkle in their eyes!) I would allow more time in each city, as I felt rushed sometimes. (Both my husband and I are over 60 and moving every 2 days was quite tiresome!)

This would mean probably dividing the trip into two different trips.
