Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok

Today you begin your Thailand journey by boarding your international flight to Bangkok.

After being welcomed by your private guide at Bangkok Airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. The chosen hotel for you is an amazing one to begin your trip with great facilities and a delightful setting on the banks of the Chao Phrya River.

Day 2: Introductory Tour of Bangkok

A guided tour of Bangkok today is going to be an amazing introduction to Thailand. Visit the capital's major highlights such as Wat Po (home to the reclining Buddha), the Grand Palace, and Jim Thompson's house. Try out Bangkok's various forms of public transport - the public taxi boat, a long-tail boat, the Skytrain which makes its way through the skyscrapers and shopping malls, and of course the world-famous Thai tuk-tuk. This is going to be a fun excursion that offers you tremendous insight into the capital city as well as the people that call Bangkok home. The guide will be able to go at a pace that suits your family.

Day 3: Venturing to Kanchanaburi

This morning, your guide takes you from your hotel for your private transfer to Kanchanaburi. The journey will take about two and a half hours. This area is known for its time during the 2nd World War when the Japanese used Allied POWs to form the Burma-Thailand Railway. Gain insight into the history of Japan with a private guided tour of the major highlights such as the infamous Bridge On The River Kwai, the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, and Hell Fire Pass. The tour also includes a boat ride up the River Kwai and a train journey on the famous Death Railway. Later in the evening, you can relax in your river camp's charming setting. The Hintok River Camp is an amazing place for families with comfortable, safari-style tents.

Day 4: Exploring Kanchanaburi

Today, you’ll experience one of the most splendid creatures of Thailand with a shared tour at Elephant's World, which is an elephant sanctuary that looks after rescued, old, sick, and handicapped elephants. The motto of the sanctuary is 'we humans work for the elephants, they will not work for us'! Spend your entire day today looking after them - feeding, bathing and preparing their food and experience their motto for yourself!

Day 5: Back to Bangkok

This morning, you may like to relax in the camp's rock pool by the River Kwai, take out your camp's complimentary mountain-bikes or visit the spectacular falls at the Erawan National Park. Your guide takes you for your private transfer to Bangkok, helping you to catch the overnight train to Chiang Mai, situated in the north of Thailand. The train journey is going to take 12 hours however trains in Thailand are known for being late so this could even extend by two to four hours.

Day 6: Heading to Chiang Mai

Your guide will meet you at the train station in Chiang Mai and will transfer you and your family to your hotel. After check-in into your hotel, spend the rest of your day at leisure. In the late afternoon, visit Chiang Mai's most well-known landmark - the temple of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. This is one of the most significant temples of Thailand and has remarkable views of the city. Later in the evening, visit the city's world-famous night bazaar.

Day 7: Experience Thai Life in Chiang Mai

The bike ride is a picturesque 15-20 km ride and the kayaking takes place on a lake, passing jungle-clad hills to a tiny village of floating houses. Relish a traditional Thai lunch at the village and later, relax in the village, go for a swim or explore further in your kayaks before getting back to your hotel by boat and road.
