Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Glasgow

Upon your arrival in Glasgow, you are met by your private guide at the airport and driven to your centrally situated hotel. This afternoon, head out on an orientation tour of the city accompanied by your private guide. Officially, the friendliest city in the world, you are guaranteed a warm welcome in Glasgow. Moreover, there is so much to explore in this beautiful, lively city. No matter which season you visit here, you’ll find world-class tourist attractions, varied neighborhoods, spectacular architecture, an ever-progressing food and drink scene, and celebrated nightlife.  The city also has a year-round calendar buzzing at the seams with fantastic events and festivals.

 

Day 2: Exploring Glasgow

Today morning, you explore and admire the street art of Glasgow with a private guide, meandering through the central areas of the city to uncover the intense, bold and innovative artwork which embellish several buildings and walls. Later in the afternoon, make your way to Tennent's Brewery for a shared tour and tasting experience.

 

Day 3: Heading to Bowmore, Islay

Bowmore is a tiny town on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay which serves as the administrative capital of the island. The place gives its name to the renowned Bowmore distillery producing Bowmore single malt scotch whiskey.

Today, you’ll be driven to the west coast to board your ferry across to the island of Islay. On the way to the coast, you’ll be driven via Loch Fyne, famous for its excellent salmon. The ferry will take you across to Islay, then later, you’ll be transferred to your waterside hotel.

 

Day 4: A Day Tour of Bowmore, Islay

This morning, get ready to visit the American Monument all by yourselves before you are taken to Ardbeg Distillery for a shared tour and tasting. Later in the afternoon, embark on a shared wildlife cruise boat to explore the coastline accompanied by a local captain, keeping an eye out for dolphins, seals, porpoise, and seabirds.

 

Day 5: More Fun Time in Bowmore, Islay

Today morning, make a visit to the Kildalton Cross. This is one of the superb early Christian crosses in the country and is carved intricately with Celtic designs and Christian motifs. Visit Laphroaig Distillery for a shared tour of the distillery. Next, you’ll be driven to Port Charlotte to explore the Museum of Islay Life. Later, venture to Kilchoman, Islay's newest distillery, located on a farm. Here you'll enjoy a shared tour and tasting.

 

Day 6: Visiting Knipoch

This morning, board the ferry back to the mainland, then you’ll be driven towards Oban, exploring the medieval stone circles of Kilmartin Glen on the way. Later in the afternoon, embark on a speedboat to board a wildlife boat trip around the coast and tiny islands around Oban.

 

Day 7: Another Day in Knipoch

Today, you’ll get to explore the castles, lochs and beautiful mountain scenery of Argyll with a private guide, driven in a 4x4 vehicle to give you the most amazing views. Explore the ruins of Kilchurn Castle and the inside of Inveraray Castle, which is still lived in by the Duke of Argyll and his family.

 

Day 8: Returning Back to Glasgow

This morning, you’ll be driven to Loch Lomond and will pick up your rental bikes to cycle down the western shore to the beautiful village of Luss. This is an amazing place to explore or have lunch before you board the boat taking you and your bicycle back up the loch to your car. Continue onwards to the outskirts of Glasgow, where you'll have the opportunity to stay in a castle hotel within close proximity to the airport.

 

Day 9: Departure Back Home

Today, you’ll be transferred to the international airport to fly back home.
