2- Days in Yangon

Day 1: Welcome to Yangon

This is the first day of your 11-Days Myanmar travel itinerary. You are going to land at the Yangon International Airport, which is just an hour drive distance away from the center of the city, the Sule Pagoda. Take a taxi to your luxurious hotel room and catch up with some rest and settle in. You can then head out to see the Sule Pagoda. After exploring the place, head towards a nearby restaurant to enjoy your perfect dinner. The best Myanmar travel tips for the day is that you warp up day-1 as early as possible because the second day is going to be really hectic.

 

Day 2: Explore Yangon - Markets and Pagodas

Talk about the best places to visit in Yangon and you will hear the echoing names of Kandawgyi Lake, Bagyoke Market, and Schwedagon Pagoda everywhere. You can start off from the Bagyoke Market and then proceed towards Kandawgyi Lake and then to Shwedagon Pagoda

Bagyoke Market: This 1920 built market will offer you the perfect place to buy some beautiful Burmese handicrafts to clothing. And, the key attractions of the place is some stunning pieces of jewelry.

Kandawgyi Lake: Proceed towards Kandawgyi Lake after you have enjoyed your shopping at the Bagyoke Market. Here you will discover the giant Karaweik, which is actually a beautiful edifice, a restaurant, also referred to as the Karaweik Palace. You will get to experience the royal culture here in the place.

Shwedagon Pagoda: After that, its time to head towards the Shwedagon Pagoda. Make sure you are visiting the place at night or Sunset because it’s the time of the day when it looks glowing.

2-Days in Bagan

Day 3:  Yangon to Bagan - Enjoy the Sunrise

Walk for 10 minutes from the Sule Pagoda and you will reach to the Central Train Station. You can take a train ticket worth 200 kyats for a peaceful 3-hours ride. Through your journey, you will enjoy an overview of the panoramic beauty of the place. And, then you can reach the bus station and take your bust from Yangon to Bagan. It takes around 9-hour to reach the Bagan city center.

 

Day 4: Explore the temples of Bagan

You will be reaching to the Bagan at around 6 a.m in the morning. You can enjoy the perfect Sunrise if you are lucky enough. And, then head towards your accommodation and settle down here. After catching up with some rest you can venture out to explore the temples in the vicinity of your hotel room. The best way to exploring these more than 2000 temples is to hire an electric bicycle. For the entire day, you will have to pay around 4000 to 5000 Kyats.

2-Days in Mandalay

Day 5: Bagan to Mandalay

This morning get up a little earlier and after having your breakfast go to the bus stand. You can catch up your bus for Mandalay. It will be taking around 6 hours to reach your destination. While there are other modes of traveling from Bagan to Mandalay, traveling by bus has its own perks. On the way, you can enjoy your fascinating journey and have an overview of the place’s beauty.

 

Day 6: Explore Mandalay

Exploring Mandalay is all about exploring different temples built here! You can start off your exploration of the place by visiting Sandamuni Pagoda and then moving towards Schwenandaw Kyaung or Golden Palace. Here you will get a chance to admire Buddhism and uncover many Buddhist myths. In the afternoon you will get a chance to enjoy your perfect lunch at Mandalay Hill Resort’s Ming Restaurant. After this, you can move towards the Kuthodaw Pagoda. This incredibly built Pagoda has 729 stupas and each of it has an inscription on a marble slab. According to a study, it will take you around one year to complete reading all the inscriptions if you are reading it for 8 hours a day.


3-Days Kalaw Trek

Day 7: Mandalay to Kalaw

On the seventh day of your Myanmar travel itinerary, you can take a bus to travel from Mandalay to Kalaw. The bus will be leaving Mandalay at 7:30 pm in the evening and will be arriving there in Kalaw at around 3 am. Or, if you are not comfortable taking a bus, you can opt for a car or Taxi journey.

Day 8 & 9:  Kalaw trek

Talking of the treks in Myanmar and you cannot miss talking about Kalaw trek. The most famous of Myanmar begins here in rural Kalawa and ends at Inle Lake. If you love adventure, Kalaw hiking is the thing for you. It’s a great idea to book your trek tickets before the day of your trekking. 2-days is enough to complete the same. The entire trek is around 70 km and you will have to take tuk-tuk instead of walking by foot. By booking your tickets you can be sure of getting proper accommodations and food. You must not forget taking a camera along.

 

1 Day Inle Lake

Day 10: Inle Lake

After you have reached Inle Lake, you will be offered a lot of opportunities to enjoy your Myanmar travel itinerary. One of the most famous activities here is boating or Kayaking around. The beautiful scenery and tranquil surrounding will make you feel on top of the world for sure. There is also a beautiful monastery and a wonderful floating market. This place is perfect to walk around leisurely and eat!

Day 11: Take your Flight from Yangon

This is the eleventh day of your Myanmar travel itinerary and you will be returning to Yangon for taking a flight back home.
