Day 1: Exploring the Old Town

This is the first day of your Riga Itinerary and you can’t miss exploring the Old Town. There are numerous reasons because of which a great number of travelers come to this place every year. From the cobblestone street to the fascinating medieval style architecture, there is no dearth of interesting sites here.

The House of Blackheads: This iconic sites in Riga was built in the 14th century! It was initially built in for the German merchants and was rebuilt during the 90s after being destroyed because of the destructions caused due to WWII.

St Peter’s Church: It’s one of the most celebrated churches of Riga, Latvia located in the Old Town. Travelers from around the globe come to see this beautiful divine edifice. Its height is around 120m and one gets a perfectly amazing view of the town from the top.

The Dom Cathedral: Another famous church here is the Dom Cathedral. Located in the Old Town of Riga, it attracts a large number of travelers from every corner of the world. The building was built during 1207 and is particularly known for the 6,718 piped organ.

Day 2 - Explore Riga Central Market

This is going to be the second day of your 3 Days Riga Itinerary! Today’s focus of the trip would be the Riga Central Market. Ostensibly, nothing can give a better picture of a place than its food. So, if you want to try some local delicacies, just make your way right towards the Riga Central Market.

The market was built in 1930 and is considered as the largest markets of Europe. The market opens all day around the year, and you don’t need to worry what day it is. You’ll encounter a plethora of vegetable, meat, fish, products, and much more. And, there would also be vendors with freshly baked pastries and you can start your day with the perfect breakfast.

The Museum of the Occupation: The Next spot for this day will be the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia! It’s considered one of the best and widely known Museums in Riga Latvia. And, is particularly known for helping tourist uncover the German History, the story behind the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and the Soviet occupation of Latvia from WWII.

Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia: This Museum is located at a short distance from the city and is accessible by the city’s tram. It proffers an opportunity to the travelers to discover rural Latvia. Here you will be provided with a map on entry with the help of which exploration can be done.

 

Day 3 - Day trip to Jurmala

Today if the third and the last day of the Riga, Latvia trip! This day you’ll be taking a day trip to Jurmala. This place has a vast span of beautiful sandy Baltic beach. Taking a day trip to Jurmala is the perfect way of this part of the trip.

For people who are coming from a warmer climate

The water might be a bit chilly for people used to warmer climates however it’s definitely still swimmable during the summer months if you can handle a little bit of chill. There are also a number of nature trails in the area for walking or biking if you feel like being more active.
