Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in San Jose

Today your Costa Rica journey begins as you board your international flight to San Jose. Upon arrival in San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica, your private guide greets you at the airport. You're then driven to your hotel in downtown San Jose by private transfer. After check-in, settle down into the comforts of your hotel. Now, it is entirely your call to either head out and explore the city on your own or have a taste of the city from the comforts of your hotel room while relaxing and getting prepared for your one-week Costa Rica journey that awaits you!

Day 2 Visit to Arenal Volcano

Today, you’ll be traveling via a shared minibus transfer of around 3 hours to reach your hotel in the Arenal Volcano region. In the afternoon, you'll head out to enjoy some free time and start exploring. You can visit the La Fortuna waterfall, hike to the base of the volcano or can simply rest and relax in your lush and tranquil hotel surroundings.

Day 3 More of Arenal Volcano

Today, you’ll enjoy a shared trip to the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, which is an hour and a half away by shared transfer. On reaching, you’ll take a boat journey along the Rio Frio in search of caiman, sloth, tropical birds, turtles, and monkeys. This is going to be a half day trip that will include guides, lunch, snacks, all transfers, and a stop off in order to buy breakfast and purchase some souvenirs en route.

Day 4 Some more time at Arenal Volcano

Today is yours at leisure to just relax by the hotel pool or you can also add more activities: you can go kayaking on Arenal Lake, white water rafting, zip-lining or visit the nearby hanging bridges.

Day 5 Heading to Monteverde Cloudforest

This morning after breakfast, you’ll make your way to the Monteverde Cloudforest by shared transfer and a scenic boat ride. The drive, though a little bumpy, goes through some truly spectacular scenery. The whole transfer is going to take around four hours in total. Once you reach in Monteverde, you'll have the entire afternoon in order to relax or start exploring, before your night tour to move out looking for the creatures of the forest after dark.

Day 6 Another day at Monteverde Cloudforest

In the morning, you’ll be taking a fun and interactive tour to a local family-run plantation where they grow sugar cane, coffee, bananas, and oranges. In the afternoon, you'll get to visit Monteverde's canopy walkways and will also get the opportunity to try out some exhilarating zip-lining through the treetops. Both of these trips are shared group trips with transfers included, and also an English speaking guide.

Day 7 A journey to Manuel Antonio

Today, after breakfast, get ready to travel five hours by shared coach to the gorgeous Central Pacific coast and your hotel close to Manuel Antonio. Upon arrival, you can spend the rest of your day relaxing at your hotel or can also head off to explore this beautiful coastline.

Day 8 Beach visit in Manuel Antonio

Today, early in the morning, heading off to the beach in the national park is highly suggested, which is going to be a short journey away by the hotel's complimentary shuttle bus.

Day 9 More time in Manuel Antonio

Today, you can enjoy some more relaxation on the beach or you could perhaps also arrange a kayaking or catamaran tour. The choice is entirely yours to either feed your adventurous spirits on your last day in Costa Rica or enjoy a peaceful time by the beachside reflecting on this beautiful journey of yours which is soon coming to an end.
