Day 2: A Day of Exploring Bogota
The city of Bogota is beating heart of Colombia, and is the perfect place to begin with your Colombian journey! On the very first morning in Colombia, visit La Candelaria, Bogota’s cultural core. Cobblestone pathways lined with lively graffiti are a hallmark of this traditional-cum-bohemian neighborhood, where old-fashioned vendors and political street art flourish. Get your camera ready for some stunning photography of Bogota’s 18th- and 19th-century architecture.
Explore further the historic Candelaria district, the Gold Museum and Bolivar Plaza.
Day 3: More of Bogota
This morning, enjoy a privately guided walk through the Palo Quemado Market for a sensory delight and look into local life before you take a cable car up to Bogota’s central peak, Monserrate for stunning views of the city below. While the cable car up the mountain is an amazing experience in itself, watching a beautiful sunset from the top of Monserrate is an experience that you cannot miss at any cost!
Later in the evening, just pop into a local cafe for a cup of Tinto, which is the most traditional preparation of Colombia's incredible coffee. If you feel hungry, you can feed up on mouth-watering street food like arepas.
Bogota’s party scene is renowned internationally - and for good reason! Whether you’re in the mood to just catch some live music or hit a club, dance salsa, and drink a quiet microbrew, Bogota’s nightlife has it all for you. Even though Zona T is known as Bogota’s most party-centric neighborhood, you can also check out Chapinero, considered as the city’s hipster haven, and find nightly shenanigans aplenty.
