As you head towards the north, the city emerges around you like a splash of color. Your luxurious hotel will provide you with a lavish view of the skyline and the emerald trees overtaking Monserrate, which is a church-topped mountain situated at the edge of the city rising 10,341 feet above sea level to the east.

About 3-hour drive from Bogota lies Pereira. This city is situated in a small valley descending from the western Andes mountain chain and is the center of the country’s western region. There are a number of adventure sports that traveler can practice here such as visiting nature reserves or relaxing in hot springs. You could even witness snow here and learn about the cultivation of coffee for which Colombia is famous all over the world.

Cartagena was the first Spanish colony on the American continent and is one of the first sanctuaries of freed African slaves in the Americas. Presently, it is populated by an ethnic mix representative of Colombia's own variety. This is Colombia’s most visited city and gets extremely crowded in the December holidays and the holy week. The city has many fancy restaurants, hotels, and clubs. It is also nice to visit a quiet beach here to soak up some sun.
