In the afternoon, visit the National Folk Heritage Museum which connects Bhutan to its past with exhibitions, demonstrations, and artifacts. Before the late evening, you can also pay a short visit to National Memorial Chorten which is a hemispherical shaped memorial stupa and known as a place of meditation. Return to your lodge before the dark for a delectable dinner.
Punakha is a former capital of Bhutan and it deserves your visit. On your way to Punakha, your guide will stop you at several stoppages to break the monotony and add some entertainment to your trip. These stoppages include Dochula Pass, Punakha Dzong, and Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. All of them are stunningly beautiful places and you will enjoy a short at these places. Bumthang Valley is the heartland of Buddhism in Bhutan. It is believed that in 746 AD, Guru Rinpoche arrived here to exorcize a demon from the king. To restore peace, he then, converted the people to Buddhism. During his stay in the valley, he built more than 40 temples and all of them are a part of Bhutan tourist attraction. On the second day, hike to Tamzhing Goemba which is an important monastery because of its direct connection to the Buddhist saint, Pema Lingpa.
