About 1 hour from your hotel lies one of the country's most spectacular volcanoes, Mount Batur. The active volcano has a breathtaking setting within a vast ancient caldera next to a lake and hot springs. Numerous craters over time have formed on the volcano. If you wish, you can trek to one of the lower craters which offer sweeping views of the caldera and at times radiates steam and gases from tiny vents in the crater wall. As the sun sets, you will get to enjoy eggs that are being cooked in the soil beneath you before you return back to your hotel.
