Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Vienna

Start your trip by exploring the capital city of Vienna. Set off on a guided walking tour through the city center and visit some top attractions, such as the Vienna State Opera, St. Stephen's Cathedral, and the Hofburg Palace.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional Austrian meal at a local restaurant and try some of the local wine.

Day 2: Vienna exploration

Spend the day exploring more of Vienna's rich cultural and historical heritage. Visit the Belvedere Palace and its beautiful gardens, or take a tour of the Schnbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburg monarchy.

In the evening, catch a performance at the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, or attend a classical music concert at one of the city's many historic concert halls.

 

Day 3: Vienna to Danube river

Leave Vienna and head to the Danube river in a private transfer. The journey will take around four hours. Enjoy the spectacular views as the river runs through Austria and several other Central and Eastern European countries. Take a boat tour of the river and enjoy the beautiful scenery as you pass through the Wachau Valley, a region known for its picturesque vineyards and charming towns. Spend the night in a town along the river, such as Drnstein or Melk.

Day 4: Exploring the Danube river and around

Spend the day exploring the towns and villages along the Danube river. Visit the medieval castles of Drnstein and the Baroque Melk Abbey, or take a hike through the scenic countryside.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional Austrian meal and some local wine at a restaurant in one of the river towns.

Day 5: Danube river to Berchtesgaden

After breakfast, head to Berchtesgaden (a private drive of three hours), a picturesque town in the Bavarian Alps. On the way, stop at the Salzburg Salt Mines, where you may visit the subterranean tunnels and learn about the region's salt mining history.

Spend the night in Berchtesgaden and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.

Day 6: Exploring more of Berchtesgaden

Spend the day exploring the Bavarian Alps around Berchtesgaden. Take a hike through the mountains, visit the Eagle's Nest, a former Nazi retreat serving as a restaurant with panoramic views of the region, or visit the Knigssee, a beautiful alpine lake.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional Bavarian meal at a local restaurant.

 

Day 7: Spending more time in Berchtesgaden

Before departing from Berchtesgaden, take some time to visit the nearby town of Salzburg, the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Explore the city's historic center and visit some top attractions, such as the Salzburg Cathedral and the Hohensalzburg Fortress.

Day 8: Departure

Pack your bags and have a farewell lunch. Your private guide will escort you to the airport for your international departure.
