This is how the journey begins...
The journey begins with Paro, a valley town in Bhutan which has country’s only International airport apart from having many sacred places in the town. The stay will be of 3 days in the town before you proceed to Thimphu, a few kilometers away from Paro offering the most amazing places to visit. After staying there for one and a half day there, the trip would take you between the spectacular architectural and breathtaking views in the form of Punakha. It is the perfect place to visit boasting the artistic approach of the Bhutanese culture and having an extensive range of temples.
Then, the trip would be continued with several places, including Wangdue Phodrang to Gangtey amidst the journey which requires short stays at the places. During the trip, you would be accumulating a lot of scenic views and this tour ends there where you have started your journey from. Day 1: Arrival at Paro
The first day of the tour is reserved for the arrival at the airport and be comfortable in the place. A journey to the spiritual country begins with the arrival at the International airport in Paro and it presumes that the flight would land early in the morning. The local guide will meet you at the airport and would escort you to the hotel. Check-in to the hotel and relax in your room after having your morning meal at the hotel. Relaxing for a few hours would refresh your mind and body and once you feel rejuvenated, it is time for action. Take a stroll around the place and nearby market. Come back to your accommodation in the evening and take your dinner at the hotel before you proceed to your room.
Day 2: Explore Paro
Begin your day with a hot cup of coffee or your preferred beverage and take a look around the beautiful views from the window of your room. After your breakfast, the National Museum is the best destination to start with. This cultural museum is one of the top attractions in Paro, which is situated in western Bhutan. A visit to this museum would unfold the history of the place which says that Ta Dzong was built to protect the undefended dzong that was renovated later in 1968 to this famous National Museum. Half of the day would be well invested in exploring the area and take a walking trip to the ruined fort of Drukgyel Dzong in the rest of the day. In the late evening, make a move towards your hotel and after having your dinner, go to your room to take some rest.
Day 3 & 4: Leave for Thimphu and Explore Thimpu
Proceed towards Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, early in the morning. It’s a 1.5 hrs scenic drive from Paro that offers stunning views of green lush mountains and calm rivers. Upon arrival at the hotel, you will be greeted with welcome snacks and drinks. After you check-in, you will be served with the traditional breakfast and finishing up your morning meal, take rest to refresh your mind. Spa services are also provided to the customer, so book a relaxing spa massage at the hotel if you want to enjoy a good body massage by the river. Start your journey in the second half of the day with a visit to the Simtokha Dzong, which is now known as the Institute for Language and Cultural Studies. While driving back to your hotel, make a visit to Folk Heritage Museum, and Institute for Zorig Chusum to see Takin, the national animal of Bhutan. Leave for the hotel in the evening.
The second day in Thimphu is perfect for sightseeing since most of the top attractions have been covered on the first day of the Thimphu trip. Takin Mini Zoo showcases the national animal of Bhutan and after spending leisure time in Zoo, move forward to Trashi Chhoe Dzong. It is a place covered by manicured lawns and gorgeous gardens showcasing the throne room, and offices of the secretariat and the King. That’s all you will be exploring in Thimphu, so head out to the hotel in the evening and take rest as you have to leave early in the morning for Punakha
Day 5: Travel to Punakha
The fifth day of the tour is scheduled for a morning drive to Punakha. So after your morning meal, en-route to Punakha that is a 3 hrs drive from Thimphu and amidst the drive, you can have multi-stops to cherish the beautiful views. Just 45 minutes away, the Dochula pass will be the first stop in the roster offering a glance of the Himalayan range. The entire view is so mesmerizing and you move closer to Punakha valley, Chimi Lhakhang is the best place to stop by. This temple is also known as the Fertility Temple that was built in honor of Lama Drukpa Kunley, especially for women without children to get blessings from the saint. Proceed further and explore the beautiful rivers, including Pho Chhu, and Mo Chhu. The entire day will be spent in exploring on the go, reach to your hotel in the evening and take rest after having your dinner at the hotel.
Day 6: Departure at Paro
Post breakfast, leave for Paro from where the journey begins. Head back to your hometown from the airport.
