Day 1: Arrival in Colombo and Transfer to Negombo

Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival at the airport in Colombo, you will meet your private guide, who will escort you to your hotel in Negombo. After settling at your hotel, set out to explore the local markets and enjoy a relaxing evening on the sandy shores of the Indian Ocean. Have a lavish dinner at your luxury hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Sigiriya, Discover the Hand-Woven Textiles of Divulapitiya

Today, you'll venture deeper into the heart of Sri Lanka and make your way to Sigiriya, a three-hour scenic private drive. On the way, you'll stop at the small village of Divulapitiya to discover the art of hand-woven textiles. Explore the local markets, meet with weavers, and learn about the intricate process of creating these beautiful works of art. Enjoy a traditional meal in a local restaurant. On reaching Sigiriya, check into your hotel. In the evening, immerse yourself in the region's rich history with a visit to the Sigiriya Museum. Learn about the fascinating story of King Kashapa and the ancient city of Sigiriya, as well as the unique cultural and ecological significance of the area. Return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 3: Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Explore Ancient Polonnaruwa

After breakfast, embark on a day of exploration and adventure. First, you'll climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to marvel at the breathtaking views and ancient ruins. Head out for a delicious lunch, and then you'll head to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa to discover its rich history, fascinating ruins, and well-preserved temples. In the afternoon, explore the lush greenery and serene waters of the Pidurangala Rock Temple. Climb to the top and marvel at the panoramic views of the surrounding hills and forests. Return to your hotel for dinner. 

Day 4: Transfer to Kandy via Dambulla, Matale Spice Garden & Temple of the Tooth

Today, you'll embark on a journey to the city of Kandy (a two-and-a-half-hour drive), one of the cultural capitals of Sri Lanka. On the way, you'll visit the famous Dambulla Cave Temple, the Matale Spice Garden, and the Temple of the Tooth, a sacred temple that houses one of Buddhism's most important relics. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening leisurely. 

Day 5: A day full of Safari Adventure at Wasgamuwa

Embark on an adventure through the lush wilderness of Wasgamuwa National Park, located just outside of Kandy. Your tour begins at 10:30 AM with a pickup from your hotel and a scenic drive to the park's heart. Wasgamuwa is a haven for wildlife, boasting over 150 species of endemic flora and an abundance of mammals, birds, reptiles, and even insects. Keep your eyes peeled for majestic elephant herds, the rare sloth bear, and colorful birds like the red-faced malkoha and painted stork. You might spot a water buffalo, golden palm civet, or the elusive Sri Lankan frogmouth. During your three-hour safari, you will traverse the park's diverse landscape, stopping at water bodies where you may catch a glimpse of reptiles like the Mugger Crocodile or water monitors. You will also be enthralled by the park's 50 species of butterflies, eight of which are endemic to Sri Lanka.

Day 6: Discover Dumbara Weaving, Art & Philosophy in an Artist's Home

Get ready for a truly immersive experience as you visit the home of a local artist in Kandy. Learn about the art of Dumbara weaving, the philosophy behind the intricate designs, and its role in Sri Lankan culture. Take a tour of the artist's studio, watch as they work, and bring a piece of their art back with you as a souvenir. In the evening, continue your cultural journey by attending a traditional Sri Lankan dance performance. Marvel at the fluid movements and colorful costumes as the dancers bring to life ancient tales and legends. Return to your hotel for dinner. 

Day 7: Transfer to Galle, Sunset at the Japanese Peace Pagoda

Today, you'll travel to the beautiful coastal city of Galle, where you'll spend the next two days exploring its rich culture and history. The journey will take four hours, and you will stop by for a delicious lunch. As the sun sets, visit the Japanese Peace Pagoda to watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean and soak in the serene atmosphere of this peaceful place.

Day 8: Sri Lankan Mask Carving Workshop, Discover Galle's Dutch Fort

After breakfast, embark on a hands-on cultural experience as you attend a mask-carving workshop in Galle. Learn about the ancient tradition of Sri Lankan mask carving, the symbolism behind the designs, and their role in local ceremonies. Afterward, explore Galle's Dutch Fort, a well-preserved 17th-century fortification that offers a glimpse into the city's colonial past. 

Day 9: Return to Colombo For Udawalawe National Park Safari

Get ready for a wild adventure in the heart of Sri Lanka! Today, you'll embark on a thrilling jeep safari through Udawalawe National Park, a lush and verdant wildlife refuge teeming with exotic creatures. From the comfort of your jeep, you'll explore the park's diverse landscapes, from marshy wetlands to dense forests, and get up close and personal with the park's most famous residents: the majestic Sri Lankan elephants. Along the way, you'll also have the chance to spot other fascinating creatures, such as colorful water birds, fascinating reptiles, and elusive amphibians. Return to your hotel for dinner.  

Day 10: Departure from Colombo

As your Sri Lankan Safari closes, you'll be transferred to the airport in Colombo for your flight home. Take with you the memories of rich culture, stunning landscapes, and beautiful works of art, and remember the warmth and hospitality of Sri Lanka.
