Detailed Itinerary

Day 1. Kigali to Bwindi by road

How your first day of the trip will spend actually depend upon the time of your arrival. If you are arriving in the early morning, there’s a lot you can explore in Uganda on the very first day. However, if you are arriving in the late afternoon or evening, all you can do for the rest of the day is relaxing in your lodge or a short walk around the premises. So, do decide this in advance so you can get the best out of your trip.

In this Uganda Safari package, we are assuming that your arrival has been done in the early morning. In that case, you will be lading in Kigali around 6 A.M. The reason why we have chosen Kigali over any other Uganda city is its close proximity to the famous Bwindi Forest. The place is ideal if you had Gorillas and the beautiful Uganda lakes on your mind while planning this safari.

Bwindi is at a 5-hours drive from Kigali and we know you do not want to waste even a single hour. That’s why, you will be immediately transferred to a private 4 vehicle that will escort you to Bwindi Backpackers - the place of your stay in Bwindi. This is an affordable yet beautiful option to spend some days in the incredible Bwindi. Even if you do not have a guide along with you, these backpackers are enough to guide you through the trek. Just meet the relevant people and they will guide you the best. Spend the night in your lodge and let the sun rise with an adventurous day.

Day 2:  The spectacular waterfall hike in Bwindi

The first activity of this trip would be the spectacular waterfall hike in Biwindi. Yes, you will get to hike the wonderful waterfall that adds tons of value to Bwindi. You might get surprised to know that these hikes would require a guide along with you. In fact, you might be asked to hire an armed guard just in case you get to encounter some forest elephants or other wildlife. For all this, you will have to pay between 15 USD pp to 60 USD pp.

Talking about the hike, it will be a 3h-4h waterfall hike wherein you will get to spot some of the best scenic moments in Uganda. While stepping towards the hike, do not forget to take a long stick along with you. The hike to the waterfall is not hard but the ground is usually slippery and lush green which only a stick can hold. You will find the hike stunning and filled with dense jungle and fenced animals. The waterfall is deep in the jungle and the path is not easily recognizable. This is why you need a local guide to guide you to the waterfall. You will spend an entire day hiking and enjoying the waterfall.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking

Reserve the third day of your trek to witness the majestic gorillas who reside in the lush green forests of Bwindi.
