Day 1: Gilleleje

A well-known fishing town, Gilleleje is admired by the local tourists. Relish the chill breeze where the port is a significant part of the town. Day 2: Elsinore

Also famous as Helsingør, Elsinore houses one of the world’s most renowned castles - Kronborg, which has been the setting for Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. For over 80 years, the play has been performed in Elsinore. Founded in the 15th century, the prehistoric medieval fishing village is a fortress as well as a church which is surrounded by convents. Today, it is a vibrant port city. Han, a 2012 statue in the harbor is esteemed as the equivalent of Little Mermaid of Copenhagen. Extending the length of the northern coast of the island Zealand, Danish Riviera comprises of some of the exquisite beach resorts in all of Scandinavia. The castle towns of Hillerod and Helsingor are especially famous ones, which play host to the classic Renaissance Frederiksborg Palace and the magnificent Kronborg Castle respectively. Stretches of sun-showered sand, oscillating dunes and vibrant beds of roses adorn the beaches such as Gilleleje and Hornbaek. Moreover, there are the coastal forests, lead by the prehistoric groves of Gribskov which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Scots pines of Tisvilde. 

Day 8: Rosenborg Castle

A 400 year old castle, Rosenborg is gorgeously adorned with crown jewels, and splendid surfaces. Today also, it maintains its simplicity and magnificent splendor. The grounds are wonderfully decorated with beautiful flowers and alluring gardens. The architecture, artworks and rooms are stunning and are worth visiting. It is undoubtedly one of the top places to explore during your Denmark vacation.
