DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Discovery of the Wonderful Ancient Churches & Ruins

It’s the first day of this trip and no matter whichever Armenia vacation packages you have availed, you will be guided at every step. We do not need to provide you that information!

It’s time to explore as many churches as you can all through the country. Armenia is the country that is believed to have adopted Christianity as its state religion for the first time around 1700 years ago. Obviously many churches were constructed during that time.

Many of those churches have been rebuilt & you can imagine the number of takeaways in the form of historical facts. This is going to be a real cathartic experience for the history buffs.

Armenian Churches to Discover Today: The wonderful Geghard Monastery (Gina’s personal favourite), Tatev Monastery (Daniel’s favourite), Khor Virap Monastery, and more. Each of them has a different story that you will be discovering during this trip.

Day 2: A Journey Exploring the Delicious Local Cuisines

Today, this is going to start in a relaxing way. After breakfast leaves you comfy den to explore the food in Armenia. You will start by wandering around the Yerevan city and then head for Vagharshapat, which is around 18 km away from the Yerevan city. Once you reach, a delicious Armenian style lunch is waiting for you. Visit Cross of Unity in Echmiadzin ~ a social enterprise where people with disabilities get to work & children have the privilege of attending art classes for free. They also own a restaurant where you are going to enjoy amazing local food including Morash and Kyufta. In addition to that Armenian eat bread (Lavash), which is made with water, salt & flour and this won’t rot even after a year or more. Bread is an important part of every Armenian meal and even after an Armenian is eating rice they will need bread. You can interact with a local & know more about how bread is baked & more on cooking Armenian food.

Day 3: Armenian Coffee Tasting Tour

You are going to wander around Yerevan and the neighboring cities today to savor the taste of coffee in different parts of Armenia. So, you have to hurry up today to make the most of the day differentiating the taste of coffee in Armenia & other parts of the world.

All Armenia vacation packages which include coffee tasting will start with an amicable interaction with the locals. Once you interact with a local, you will get to know that the difference lies in its method of preparation. Armenians will first crush the coffee beans adding water to eat and then heating the mixture in their special coffee pot. The time it gets rising and there’s foam, you can pour down into a coffee mug and drink.

Maybe this special preparation method brings the difference. Armenian like to drink thick coffee with no sugar with a thick layer of coffee at the base. First taste it in a local Armenian home and then go to a cafe and try it. The day is going to be worth it!

Day 4: Exploring Yerevan

If you are in Armenian, it’s a crime if you are missing on a visit to Yerevan! This day you have to get up really early as there’s so much to discover. Once you step out of your hotel, you are going to be amazed by the beautiful architecture. The entire city is all built with volcanic rocks showcasing almost all shades of pink Yerevan, therefore it is also called the “Pink City”! You have got to discover the plethora of museums, cultural centers, monuments, and other tourist attractions. You are going to visit some of the popular tourist attractions in Yerevan including the Genocide Memorial, Vernissage Art Market, the Republic Square, Mother Armenia Monument, and more.

Day 5: Garni Temple Visit

The Garni temple is the only Pagan temple that is alive (in the literal sense) today! The story goes somewhere around 3500 years back. It was when most of the Pagan temples were destroyed at the time when Christianity was being adopted as the state religion in Armenia. The Garni temple remained because of its immense beauty & amazing architecture. This particular temple was so very beautiful that the followers of Christianity could not destroy it. Instead, they built a huge church in the vicinity of Garni temple. Also, it was made sure that the church was taller than the temple. You can imagine the unimaginably vast beauty that you are on your way to discover in Garni temple.

Day 6: Departure

This is the last day of the trip. Leave your hotel early in the morning after breakfast and catch your flight back home.
