Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Bogota

Meet your private guide at Bogota airport, who will transfer you to your hotel. Set off with your guide on an introductory tour of the city. Take the funicular to Monserrate for the excellent city views or visit the world-famous gold museum. A suggested activity would be the graffiti tour, where you can explore some popular street art decorating the city's walls. It is also worth touring the Botero Museum to view some of the artist's work depicting people and objects in large formats.

Day 2: Venturing to Villa de Leyva

Travel to Zipaquira Salt Cathedral, a beautiful cathedral built underground within the tunnels of a salt mine. It is always a place of pilgrimage, especially on Sundays, which can attract 3000 people to worship. After exploring this great church, travel to the quaint town of Villa de Leyva. This charming town was established in 1572 and has been protected, with virtually no modern architectural wonder, as a National Monument by the Colombian Government.

Day 3: Exploring Villa de Leyva

Enjoy the city's beautiful colonial plaza, exploring the narrow streets and private courtyards. Mingle with the locals, famed for being the friendliest in South America, and always happy to show you their culture and lifestyle. Experience hiking and mountain biking, a major tourist attraction for many people here.

Day 4: Excursion in Villavieja

Leaving Villa de Leyva, travel back to Bogota to board a short flight to Neiva. From here, travel for an hour to Villavieja, a small city that is the gateway to exploring the Tatacoa Desert. Explore the desert, which boasts magnificent rock formations and wonderful red sand. View the beautiful and memorable sunset from the desert. Then, stroll around in the charming authentic Colombian town of Villavieja.

Day 5: Tour of San Agustin

Today, your guide will drive you in a private vehicle for approximately seven hours to San Agustin. Be transferred to your resort upon arrival. Then, set out to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for the pre-Columbian structures with many beautiful statues. Very little is known about the communities that carved these statues apart from the few traces of their existence that they left behind. Be immersed in the archaeological marvels of the site.

Day 6: Discovering San Agustin

Have a guided tour through the San Agustin Archaeological Park. Examine hundreds of these statues spread over a vast area and several ancient burial sites. Enjoy some stunning views of the valley from the vicinity of the parks. Following that, undertake a jeep tour of the entire area and enjoy the outstanding green landscape. Afterward, go on a thrilling hiking trip and soak in the views from your unique vantage point.

Day 7: Visiting Cali

Meet your private guide at Cali airport, who will transfer you to your hotel. Set off for an introductory tour of the city. Discover the city's famed obsession with salsa, its passion for Latin music, and its huge Afro-Colombian culture. Examine the renowned Gothic-style architecture of the Admire La Ermita. Day 8: Strolling in Cali

Day 9: Adventurous Taironaka Nature Reserve

Head to the more serene archaeological ruins of Taironaka. After a short flight, arrive in the early afternoon with lots of time to explore these ancient wonders. Taironaka is a relatively unknown area in northern Colombia and the ideal place to get off the beaten track. Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Be immersed in the Colombian charm of the beautiful nature reserve, home to a lush and tropical landscape.

Day 10: Historical Cartagena

Discover one of Cartagena's most popular colonial towns, where the film Romancing The Stone was also shot. Wander the attractive narrow streets decorated with wooden balconies and hanging plants. Soak in the many interesting sites, such as a trip to Castillo San Felipe and the fortress on San Lazaro Hill. Beneath this fortress are several tunnels, and there are still cannons placed along the battlements. Then, go to La Popa hill to visit the colorful convent with superb views over the city. 

Day 11: Enjoying Cartagena

Explore the Boca Grande area of Cartagena, where the Colombians come for a beach vacation. Enjoy roaming in the vicinity of the area, which is full of shops, nightclubs, and bars. Then, relax in the strange mud volcano of the Volcan de Lodo El Totumo. It is believed to contain healing properties and good treatment for the skin.

Day 12: Departure

Today, your private guide will transfer you to the airport for your international departure.
