DETAILED ITINERARY

 

Day 1 - 3: Istanbul

You will be fulfilling the first part of your Turkey Vacation Planning by beginning it from Istanbul. You will be arriving in Istanbul from the Turkish airlines. It’s a great idea to stay in Sultanahmet because that is easy base of sightseeing.

On the first day of your trip to Turkey, you will be just catching up with some rest and relaxing in your hotel room. Then you can roam a little around the town in the vicinity of your hotel. After dinner sleep and enjoy.

Next morning you will be getting on to your journey of Istanbul. There are many places in Istanbul to visit. And, these wonderful places cannot be missed when you are in Istanbul…

Aya Sofya: This is believed to be one of the greatest buildings in the world. In the 537, this building was built as a Church, which later converted in 1453 as a mosque. And, in 1937, it was declared as a Museum. This is an amazingly beautiful structure that you cannot miss.

Topkapi Palace: For around 400 the Topkap? Palace has been the court of the empire of Ottoman. This is the oldest edifices to survive to date. Since 1985, this edifice has been included in the list of UNESCO world heritage sites.

At a point in time, this place is used to be home of as many as 4000 people. And, there used to be a hospital, mosques, bakeries, and mint. From every corner of this fascinating building you there is a fragrance of luxury.

Sultanahmet Camii (Blue Mosque): Not only this particular mosque is famous for being the place for visitors, but it’s also an active mosque and is closed every day for an hour, for visitors. It’s one of the ideal locations in Turkey where you will need your camera ready.

Süleymaniye Mosque: And, the most noteworthy things about this place is its perfect location, atop the highest hill. This stunning mosque is a place you cannot miss seeing when you are here.

Grand Bazaar: This building was constructed in the year 1461. And, it is now considered as one of Turkey’s Largest Covered Market. You will love the shops and shopping here.

Galata Tower: In the entire Istanbul, this 67-meter tall building is considered as one of the most stunning landmarks in Istanbul. Climbing atop the Galata Tower balcony will give you the wonderful view of the entire city.

Coffee and Turkish sweets at Hafiz Mustafa: You are committing the biggest mistakes of your life, if you are coming here in Turkey and not munching on a cup of Turkish coffee and some local desert. And, Hafiz Mustafa is the right place for all this!

Street Food: Simit (a freshly baked, molasses-dipped, and sesame-crusted bagel), Kestane Kebab (roasted sweet chestnuts), Balik Ekmek (freshly caught mackerel and salad in a white crusty baguette), and Midye Dolma

Day 4 & 5: Pamukkale

You will be taking an overnight bus from Istanbul to Denizli from where you will be taking a minibus for Pamukkale in the morning. You will come to realize the beauty of this calming land after you have reached here.

  • Pamukkale has not a lot to explore, with just three-street village. And, the key attraction of this place is its quirky natural phenomenon.

  • The name of the village has been derived from the gleaming white calcite shelves that look wonderful with warm mineral-rich waters. And, Pamukkale refers to “cotton castle.

  • In the second century BCE, Hierapolis was found to be a thermal spa. Hierapolis in Greek means a sacred city. It gradually got converted into a healing center and here the thermal pools were used by doctors for treating their patients.

  • The ancient ruins in the city include columned streets and baths, Temple, a sprawling Necropolis, Basilica, Latrine, and Amphitheatre.

 

Day 6-8: Cappadocia

Here, you will be wonderfully welcomed by hot air balloons floating all over. You will be traveling to Cappadocia by bus. Cappadocia is particularly famous for the hot air balloon flights, all through the world. This place is home to the most spectacular landscape!

The perfectly shaped terrains are the result of erosion over thousands of years. And, this was the first step that led humans to carve caves and tunnels from the soft rocks.

Rock Sites of Cappadocia and Göreme National Park are the must-visit sites if you are here in this place. These two sites got listed in the UNESCO world heritage sites in 1985. And, this was for the ancient underground settlements.

Other top tourist attractions in Cappadocia: Pigeon Valley, Uchisar Castle, Goreme Open Air Museum, White Valley, Red Valley, Love Valley, and Rose Valley.

 

Day 9 & 10: Istanbul

Turkey vacation planning is going to be one of the best decisions of your life. You are going to spend the last two days of your trip to Istanbul, from where you will also be taking your flight back home.

On the ninth day of your trip, you will travel to Istanbul and will be exploring some of the left sites in the city. Next morning you will be catching your flight back home. This is going to be a rich experience and you will find some of the best places in Turkey to visit.
