Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Lima

Welcome to the city of Lima which is filled with diverse neighborhoods. The culture here, food, and even the slang differ, thus providing Lima with an eclectic blend of flavors, smell and experiences. As you stroll along the coastal walkway through the fashionable neighborhood of Miraflores, you’ll witness the waves crashing against the sandy shores. Your private guide will greet you at the airport and will escort you to the hotel where you can settle down, relax and get ready for an amazing tour.

Day 2 – Exploring the City of Kings - Lima

After you have your breakfast, get ready to be taken on a gastronomical adventure tour to a classic Peruvian market. The entire market is going to be filled with vibrant life, the scents to the flavors and from the vendors to customers. The seaside city is an amazing place for fresh seafood with treasures emerging from the world’s richest sea and filling the market with herbs, garlic, and lemon, wrapped around delicious red snapper. Enjoy a hearty lunch at La Rosa Nautica where distinctly Peruvian dishes are enjoyed and enhanced. The tangy and frothy taste of the Peruvian national cocktail, the Pisco Sour, will linger on your tongue.

In the afternoon, continue with a panoramic tour of the vibrant city filled with beautiful architecture and rich history. The cool and refreshing breeze blows in with the evening as the lights of the main square start glowing like the remembered flavors of the day.

Day 3 – Venturing to Cusco and traverse the Sacred Valley

Today, you’ll leave the Lima markets behind and head to Cusco where the former Inca capital rolls along the Andean hills. As you travel past the city, you get into the stunning countryside, to the town of Pisac which sits peacefully along the lush valley surrounded by Inca ruins, however, the town is known for its colorful and conventional craft market. The blend of sweet potato and fresh cheese wander through the market stalls whereas the vibrant textiles add an astonishing glow to the afternoon. The red, pinks, blues, and yellows, rising from hats, blankets, skirts, and purses elongate through the market like a rainbow.

Day 4 – Discovering Machu Picchu

In the early morning, you will be transferred to the train station of the Sacred Valley and climb aboard the train enjoying the sweet aroma of alfajores, vanilla and lemon cookies, throughout the cabin of the train. Enjoying the incredible views of the surrounding through your train journey, you arrive at the city of Aguas Calientes and get to hear the rushing water of the river beside the main street. A short tram ride gets you to the base of the citadel of the Lost City.

The stone steps will lead you up the mountainside to the plateau where the Machu Picchu stands tall over the valley, the beauty of the city elevated by the magnificent scenery. Wander through the stone buildings and over the terraces and discover the beauty of the place on your own. Make sure to view down on the city and into the open roof of Principal Temple. The essence of Machu Picchu isn’t within its food but within its very existence and the lasting impression that it leaves.
