DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Whale Watching Cruise

Get up personal and close with a giant humpback whale on a whale watching tour at the Sea of Cortez which is one of the best places to experience this in this part of the world. The season of whale watching can begin as early as November, but usually runs from December to April every year. The waters that surround Cabo are popular as a hotspot for breeding, and are also a migrating stop for humpback whales. Thus your chances to spot one of these glorious animals is very high. Witnessing these whales playing and jumping in and out of the water is one of the most remarkable things to do in Cabo San Lucas. You can book a spot for yourself on one of Cabo Adventure Whale Watching Safaris that start from $89 USD for an adult. These guys are habitual to find the whales from the sounds and vibrations of the ocean. In order to ensure minimal disruption to the whales, the boats are tiny and not for the faint of heart. Get ready to get wet as well.

Day 2: Parasailing, Kayaking and Jet Skiing at Medano Beach

Medano Beach is the prime beach in Cabo San Lucas. It is situated within easy walking distance of the marina or the centre of town. It also offers just about every water sports one could imagine. Wish to fly high above the land on a parasail? Or take a leisurely kayak to the archway or try jet skiing? Do all these adventurous things at Medano Beach, which is also home to many beachfront restaurants and bars. One can sit back and simply relax with a drink after a long day of activities. The rates for watersports differ along the beach. Paddleboard and kayak rental begin from between $25USD to $30USD for an hour, while parasailing and jet ski hire begin from around $70USD.

Day 3: Cruising Around Land’s End

One of the most famous things to experience in Cabo San Lucas is visiting Land’s End. It is a well-known landmark in Cabo. These natural formations are situated at the tip of the Baja Peninsula. This is the place where the Pacific Ocean becomes the Gulf of California.

You can enjoy a leisurely cruise around Lands End to witness some of the spectacular rock forms, which include Scooby Do Rock and El Arco.

You will discover a number of companies selling their tours in the marina. These all are about the similar price, but some will be open to negotiations. While chatting and negotiating, be aware of one thing though - they might put you onto a cruise with a helper that does not!

Day 4: Swimming on Lover’s Beach

Along Land’s End, Divorce Beach and Lover’s Beach are linked on their own little island. Lover’s Beach is a wonderfully calm piece of water which looks into the bay and is ideal for swimming as well as trying out water sports. Divorce Beach which is on the other side of the island has buzzing turbulent waves. Due to the unsafe conditions, one is advised against swimming on this side.

Lover’s Beach is an ideal place to take a dip and relish the warm water of the Sea of Cortez. Getting here is a good idea as the beach can get remarkably crowded and busy during the middle of the day. Many boat operators and fisherman will offer a return ride for a small fee across Lover’s Beach. Negotiate a time with them to come and pick you up.

Day 5: Day Tour of San Jose del Cabo

Often known as the quiet sister to Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo offers a more low-key, authentic vibe to its wild neighbor. This lovely little town is situated about half an hour from Cabo San Lucas, halfway back towards the airport.

As well as its own incredible white sand beaches, San Jose del Cabo offers more of a silent shopping strip, mouth-watering restaurants and dining options, a beautiful church and an amazing historic centre. You can also enjoy a day tour to see a little more of the Baja Peninsula and the local way of lifestyle. You can rent a car for a day from the town centre and drive down the Transpeninsular Highway which connects San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Renting a car will also give you the freedom to explore at your own pace.
