DETAILED ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Cairo

Your exploration of visiting some of the most beautiful places in Egypt will be starting off from Cairo. This is the first part of your trip and your flight will be landing at the Cairo International airport. Cairo is the kind of crazy city that you will need to first get in tune with. So, first take a taxi from the airport to reach your luxurious hotel room. Once you reach, take some time to relax and adjust to the high-beat noise, heat, and dusty air.

 

Day 2: Memphis and its Necropolis, the Pyramids of Giza, Saqqara

You will be starting your journey in the morning! First, visit Giza and pose delightfully with three of the beautiful Pyramids of Khafre, Cheops. After this, head towards the Great Sphinx, which is as old as the time of Khafre. This structure is built in a way to have the body of a lion and head of a pharaoh. And, don’t miss out seeing the Valley Temple in the vicinity of the pyramid.

In the afternoon, visit the capital of old Egypt, Memphis, which is believed to have been founded by King Menes. Afterward, you can set on visiting the Step Pyramid at Saqqara. This structure was designed by Imhotep, the chancellor of King Djoser.

 

Day 3: Valley of the Whales - El Fayoum

Other than the hues and cries of the chaotic city like Cairo, the country has many other fascinating places to visit in Egypt which are just the gift of nature. You can start the third day of your trip to Egypt natural side by visiting Wadi al-Rayan. This one is an area in the deserted Western Desert and is built in the protected zone. And, driving this 100 km, you will get to understand the Egyptian mythology more clearly.

On your trip, you will be visiting the valley of whales also known as Wadi Al-Hitan. This one is a UNESCO enlisted site and that has a huge number of skeletons of whales. It’s been said that once this dessert used to be an ocean.

After this, you will enjoy your lunch and head for your next stop. You will be climbing the enjoying the unquestionably beautiful view by climbing onto the Mudawara Mountain. And, you will be surprised to note that it’s the only waterfall of Egypt that connects two big freshwater lakes. And, the final destination of your Egypt tours is the Wadi El Rayan Waterfalls.

 

Day 4: Cairo - A Historical Exploration

You can start on the fourth day of your Historical Cairo Trip by visiting the Egyptian Museum. On this trip, you will get to visit many of the UNESCO world heritage sites. At the Museum, you will get a chance to see more than 120,000 delighting artifacts and also the very famous Tutankhamun treasures.

You can proceed with your trip by visiting the Salah El Din Citadel. This Citadel was built in the year 1183 by Salah El Din (Saladin). Then there’s Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, which is one of the best tourist attractions in Egypt. And, this place was named after Egyptian ruler who ruled for 45 years.

And, in the afternoon you can enjoy visiting the Hanging Church, and other places like Ben Ezra Synagogue and others. And, you cannot miss spending some time at this well-known bazaar in the Middle East called the Hanging Church.

 

Day 5: Alexandria

This day is a whole day trip to Alexandria! You will get another chance get some time off from the crazy noise of the Cairo city. Firstly, you will be visiting the Pompey's Pillar which has been built to honor the 4th-century emperor, Diocletian. After this, you can get on to visit the Catacombs. This one is a Roman cemetery having rock cutting in three levels.  

In the afternoon, after munching on a delicious plate of some local dishes, you can continue with your trip. Your next stop is going to be the Qaitbay Citadel and it is built on the ancient Pharos Alexandria site. Next move on to Bibliotheca Alexandrina, which is a cultural center and a famous library. This was built in the remembrance of ancient Alexandria library, which was burnt in a fire.

 

Day 6: Cruising along the Nile River

This morning, you will be flying from Cairo to Luxor!  It’s good if you could take a flight Early in the morning. This way, you would be able to reach earlier and get some time to leisurely explore the ship. And, you can enjoy wandering around corniche, Luxor’s Riverfront.

 

Day 7: Luxor

In Luxor, you will be visiting the ancient temples and tombs at its West Bank. There’s the valley of the Kings, the Colossi of Memnon, and Hatshepsut Temple at El Deir El Bahari. In the afternoon, while cruising through Edfu, relish the beautiful landscape of the place. With the ship proceeding, you will be seeing the Nile Lock at Esna, which is the biggest of all the locks in the World.

 

Day 8: Temple of Edfu – Kom Ombo

Today, you will be sailing through Kom Ombo, where you will be visiting the unique double temple. This temple is dedicated to the falcon god Haroeris and the crocodile god. After this, you can move on to the Crocodile Museum, where you will be seeing around 300 mummies of crocodiles. And, at the end of the day, you will be returning back to your ship, enjoying your dinner and sailing to Aswan.

 

Day 9: Aswan High Dam to Nubian Village

In the morning, you will be starting off with your trip, visiting the Aswan High Dam. This Dam was built in the year 1960 and the purpose was to protect the flood caused due to the Nile River. You can continue this journey, visiting the majestic Philae Temple and Unfinished Obelisk.

 

In the afternoon, after finishing off your lunch, you can take a dip into the Nile River. And, after this, you can visit the local Nubian village. It’s good to meet one of the local family of Nubia and it’s interesting to know about the tradition and culture of people belonging to the place.

 

Day 10: Abu Simbel

In the early morning, you can start off with a visit to Abu Simbel. This one is listed in the list of UNESCO world heritage sites in Egypt. After this, you can return back to Aswan in the afternoon. And, you will be taking a day tour to Abydos temples and Dendera. Aswan Botanical Garden is also one of those places where you can unwind and feel relaxed.

 

Day 11: Back to Cairo

For a complete half day just enjoy strolling around the city on your own! And, in the evening, you can pack your bags for your journey to Cairo. After reaching Cairo, you can visit the Hanging Church in Cairo, Egypt.

 

Day 12 & 13: Plan 2 Days on your own

And, this you can plan a day before or on the very day, taking into account the present atmosphere at the place. You can plan out to visit Egyptian temples, the Egyptian Mount Sinai, and the Red Sea at Hurghada

 

Day 14: Cairo - Departure
