This Christmas vacation tour will start in Santiago. Visit the best of the Santiago Valley region on this active wine and cuisine adventure!

As a modern world wine region, with 2,700 miles of coastline along the chilly Pacific Ocean, Chile makes wines that are both fruit-forward factor and herbaceous, comparable to French wine. Its no surprise then, that French winemakers from Bordeaux have spent massively in the region, making it their home away from home.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive in Santiago

We will greet you at the airport once you arrive in Santiago and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 - Explore Santiago

In the morning, your guide will escort you to a tour that highlights Santiagos most famous historical sites, including the downtown area encompassing the Plaza de Armas and the La Moneda Presidential Palace. Travel by Mercado Central, one of Chiles biggest fresh seafood markets, and stroll by the various bustling stalls to see the huge variety available from Chiles bountiful sea. Explore some of the lesser-known barrios of Santiago, including Republica and Concha y Toro, which were historically vested neighborhoods and home to Santiago's high society. There is time to stroll around and take photos of the diverse styles of architecture dating back to the 19th and early 20th centuries. Continuing through the cobblestoned Lastarria neighborhood, wander through the Parque Forestal and pass by the Bellas Artes Museum. For a picturesque vista of the city, go to the top of Cerro San Cristobal Hill, which stands 984 feet above the city.

Day 3 - Trekking to El Morado Glacier

Meet your guide at your hotel and proceed to the exciting peaks of El Morado National Park, one of the Central Valleys greatest places to hike and explore. Start at Banos Morales and proceed toward Laguna Morales, a tiny lake at 7,874 feet above sea level. Enjoy a picnic lunch, and again proceed along the trail until you reach a viewpoint of San Francisco Glacier, one of the twenty-nine Chilean glaciers that have a significant influence on the nations landscape and water supply. Following the same trail, move back to Banos Morales for some drinks and snacks before traveling higher into the Andes for a relaxing soak in the Banos Colinas hot springs. This journey requires four to five hours of moderate hiking.

Day 4 - Bike Riding and Wine Tasting in the Colchagua Valley

In the morning after breakfast, leave the hotel with your guide for a day of biking and wine tasting. Start with a three-hour drive south to the high eastern part of the famous Colchagua Valley where you begin your ride. Take a smooth ride downhill for 20 miles toward the city of San Fernando and stop at the Casa Silva Winery which highlights a rich history dating back over a century. Enjoy a tour of the winery and have lunch along with wine tasting. After your time at the winery, we will drive you to your new hotel in the Colchagua Valley to rest from the day's ride.

Day 5 - Colchagua Valley Biking

Enjoy a second day exploring around the Colchagua Valley. After breakfast, your driver will meet you and drive you to Estampa, the first winery in Chile which was dedicated to combining its wines. The architecture of Estampa highlights an avant-garde design, which owns cutting-edge winemaking tools. Next, visit the family-run Viu Manent winery and enjoy lunch here. 
Following your lunch, cover a short distance to Neyen Winery. Located on the site of one of the regions pioneering wineries and dating back to the 19th century, Neyen is the ideal combination of traditional and modern times. Its Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon vines were planted in 1890 and produce wonderful fruit.

Day 6 - San Antonio Valley

In the morning, start for a three-hour drive to the San Antonio Valley: Chiles biggest coastal wine region. Nurturing the grapes needs unique knowledge in order to ensure the proper balance between sunlight, wind, and temperature. The hard work of winemakers has resulted in excellent production: crisp whites and spicy reds which are growingly winning recognition around the world. First, visit the Matetic Winery. A state-of-the-art winemaking plant, Matetic was designed to complement its stunning natural surroundings. Grapes are handpicked and thoroughly examined to ensure only those of the highest quality are used in the winemaking process. Enjoy a trip to the grounds and taste the flavors of their unique wines.

Day 7 - Return Home

After breakfast, your driver will meet you and drive you to the airport for your home flight or continued journey.
