Day 1 & 2: Sofia - Kopivshtitsa

Day 1 is usually occupied in making an arrival in the capital city of Bulgaria. If you have an early arrival, then it is obvious that half of the day would be invested in arrival at the airport and moving forward to your accommodation and the second half in settling down in the hotel. This will take half of the day or even more than a half day. After making yourself comfortable in the place, it is time to taste the flavors of Bulgarian cuisines and explore the top attractions of Bulgaria. This is how you can spend a day in Sofia exploring the top attractions in the later evening, you can come back to your hotel for a comfortable stay in Sofia. Leave early in the morning for Koprivshtitsa, a picturesque Bulgarian National Revival period town which is nestled at the base of Stara Planina Mountain. As you are traveling by car, you can choose between the highway and the winding road that runs parallel to the mountain. Wander around the colorful, old houses that look so vibrant and visit the museums to better understand the part of Bulgaria’s history. The total travel time is 2 hours and the distance between Sofia to Koprivshtitsa is 60 miles/110 kms.

Day 3: Kopivshtitsa - Plovdiv

The third day is reserved for the second biggest city in Bulgaria - Plovdiv. However, this is not the only reason to make a visit here, there are many more things that make this place the most beautiful one. This place has a lively arts scene in the Kapana Creative District, which is a colorful old town that is perched on the top of three hills. The whole scenic beauty with a laid-back atmosphere will make you fall in love when you fill this place with your immense presence. Begin your journey at the ancient Roman amphitheater, where you can watch live performances during the summer. Just in case, you are traveling with kids, check out the children’s railway for a ride up another of the city’s hills, or visit the planetarium at the Natural History Museum. This is the best way to spend a day in Plovdiv and check in to the hotel for a night stay. The total travel time is 1 hour and 30 minutes and the distance between Koprivshtitsa to Plovdiv is 55 miles/90 kms. 

Day 4: Plovdiv – Stara Zagora

On the fourth day, leave early for Stara Zagora in the morning. For your convenience, you can take the highway from Plovdiv to Stara Zagora for a day of history. While driving to Stara Zagora, do visit the hourglass-shaped history museum to embrace the beauty of history. It gives immense pleasure to walk on the ancient stones of Augusta Trajan Roman theater, and then head to the Zagorka Brewery Museum, Khan Asparuh Street 41, Stara Zagora, Bulgaria for a beer tour. This tour would be the most memorable day of your Bulgaria tour, so make the most out of it by clicking pictures and purchasing some real stuff from there. Day 5: Stara Zagora – Nessebar

The fifth day on Bulgaria itinerary is reserved to travel from Stara Zagora to Nessebar. Nessebar is located on the southern coast of the Black Sea, which is surrounded by beautiful beaches and has a rich history to explore. Day 6: Nessebar – Shumen

Day 7: Shumen – Veliko Tarnovo

On the seventh day, you will be traveling toward Veliko Tarnovo that is used to be the capital of Bulgaria almost a thousand years ago. This is why you will see the imposing royal Tsarevets Fortress hanging over the city. During night time, you can see the Sound and Light Show at the fortress. Day 8: Veliko Tarnovo – Glozhene Monastery

Almost 700 years old with a beautiful panoramic view, this is something that you will fall in love with. The total travel time is 2 hours and the distance between Veliko Tarnovo to Glozhene Monastery is 85 miles/140 kms.

Day 9: Last Day in the Capital City of Bulgaria

Not worth saying, this is the last day of Bulgaria tour, wake up early in the morning and if you haven’t bought any souvenirs for your friends, do some shopping for them before you will be escorted to the airport by your cab driver.
