Day 1 - Rio Day Tour / Christ the Redeemer and Maracana
Spend a full day exploring the sights of Rio de Janeiro on this Latin America escorted tour. Start with a journey to view the Christ the Redeemer Statue atop Corcovado Mountain, followed by a scenic visit to the Maracana stadium and further visit to the Sambodromo (Sambadrome), the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Selaron Steps. We will pick you up from your Rio hotel and drive up to the Christ the Redeemer statue, regarded as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, on top of Corcovado Mountain. The drive is short and pictorial, passing through the Tijuca Forest before opening up to beautiful views of the entire city. Once you return to the sea level, drive past the mythical Maracana soccer stadium and continue to Sambodromo, the location of Rio's famous Carnaval.
Day 2 - Rio Day Tour / Sugar Loaf and Selaron
Pay a visit to the unique Metropolitan Cathedral, a modern house that takes influence from Mayan pyramids. Check out the brilliantly colored tiles of the world-famous Selaron Steps, one of Rio's most unique landmarks. Then head to a local steakhouse to be treated with a delicious barbecue lunch. After lunch, make a final journey to Sugarloaf Mountain, established in the Urca neighborhood. After finishing your lunch, ride the cable cars up Sugarloaf Mountain. Board a series of 2 cable cars en route to the summit, first landing at Urca Hill, and then proceeding to the top of Sugarloaf, reaching a height of 1,295 feet (395 m). Day 3 - Iguazu Falls from Rio de Janeiro
Discover the Iguazu Falls, which are formed with 275 waterfalls. We will start with the pick up at your hotel to catch the morning flight. The flight will take you straight to Foz de Iguazu, where our team will meet you and escort you to the meeting point and begin the journey through Iguazu Falls on the Brazilian side. Enjoy the spray coming from the incredible falls and view the biodiversity that shines in this region. Iguazu Falls are considered one of the new seven wonders of nature. The park, Natural Heritage since 1986, gained significant recognition for its main attraction.
Day 4 - Explore Iguazu Falls
Learn from your guide about the main features at the waterfalls. The picturesque views from the footbridges and the viewpoints make an incredible tour. After the guided tour, you will have free time for you to explore on your own and click pictures, followed by a delicious lunch. This evening we will take a flight back to Rio de Janeiro, reaching at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Day 5 - Small-Group Santa Teresa Discovery Tour from Rio de Janeiro
Your guide will meet you at the Copacabana Palace Hotel, then jump on the subway with your guide to journey to Santa Teresa the way the locals do. Walk through Carioca Square, one of Rio's main sources of drinking water, then visit the financial district on foot with charming commentary from your guide. Board a tram (the only one in Rio) or bus for the ride up to the top of the hill where Santa Teresa is located. This neighborhood is one of Rio's best and ancient region, lined with cobblestone streets and impressive buildings. Get to know about the history and culture of the area from your guide as you weave through the narrow lanes and alleyways. Cherish the 18th- and 19th-century buildings that once housed the city’s elite but now home to art galleries, restaurants, and bars. Placed on a hill, the neighborhood contributes excellent views. Visit Parque das Ruinas (Ruins Park) for excellent photo opportunities of downtown and Guanabara Bay. Travel past the neighborhood convent, and then check out Selaron’s Staircase (Escadaria Selaron), a set of 250 steps embraced in tiles from all over the world. They were built in the 1990s by artist Jorge Selaron and have been highlighted in all sorts of productions, from an episode of ‘The Amazing Race to a Snoop Dogg video. After an appealing 4-hour tour, return to your Rio hotel.
Day 6 - Speed Boat Tour in Angra dos Reis and Ilha Grande
Ilha Grande is a paradisiacal stop!
