Day 1 - Tikal Day Trip from San Ignacio

Visit one of the greatest and most famous Mayan sites in all of Central America. Your professional guide will pick you up from your hotel before 7:30 a.m. for the approximately 1.5-hour drive to Tikal National Park. You will be helped in all border crossing procedures to enter Guatemala safely. Be sure to carry your passport. Once inside the park, let your vision run free as you explore highlights among more than 3,000 houses that archaeologists have unearthed so far. Learn about daily life and religious customs of the ancient Mayans while walking through the maze of the Central Acropolis, and envision the thrill of an elite sporting match in the ball courts. Tikal boasts an array of great ceremonial temples. Climb the steep staircase of the 144-foot (44-meter) Temple of the Grand Jaguar, established to honor a Mayan king. A set of twin pyramids with altars will welcome you at complexes Q and R. Wonder at the Temple of the Masks, which was once decorated with elaborate ceremonial mask carvings. Perhaps most striking is the oft-photographed Temple IV, also known as the Double Head Serpent. After a delightful lunch break inside the park, please your inner archaeologist during free time when you can explore the ruins independently. Your guide will then drive you back to your San Ignacio hotel at around 5 p.m.

Day 2 - Cave Kayaking Tour in Nohoc Chen Park

This journey begins with your guide to picking you up from your hotel in the morning. From there, you will be traveling along a spectacular highway for about an hour to reach Nohoc Chen Park. The park offers restroom and showers, 3 restaurants and vendors to buy snacks from.  Once equipped with swimwear, headlight, and helmets you will go on a 20-minute trek along a forest path. Once inside the caves, you will get into the kayak, single or tandem and begin paddling up, into the dark caves ways where very few people have ever tried into. Led by proficient guides, this trip allows you to go deep inside the cave system exploring 6 major caves placed on the caves branch river. You will view several chambers, structures and very dark rooms using bright LED lights, you will then view a waterfall inside the caves. After exploring all the caves, you will come out of the caves and go downstream relishing the sunlight and refreshing crystal clear waters of the caves branch river. Then it's time to drive back to your Hotel and relax.

Day 3 - Snorkel Among the Living Coral Gardens of Belize

Enjoy a gentle cool 35 minutes boat ride from the port of Belize as you will be traveling along the mangrove islands to the island of Caye Caulker, the largest island that has an awe-inspiring view of the barrier reef. There will be a 15 minutes stop to use the restroom and. Then a 5-minute boat ride will take you to the barrier reef (which is the second largest reef in the world). You will enjoy a 45 minutes snorkeling at the Coral Garden where you will be viewing the excellent Coral reef and fishes, and then enjoy swimming with Nurse Sharks and Sting Rays for 30 minutes. After enough Snorkeling is done the Tour Guide treat you to a snack and some marvelous Rum Punch While returning to the island of Caye Caulker. You will get a beach break and a delicious tropical meal before you return to your hotel.

Day 4 - Enjoy Cave Tubing Adventure in Xibalba

Leave Belize City traveling west to the Caves Branch Outpost for your cave tubing tour.  It takes approximately 1-hour driving along paved highways to reach the site. Once at Caves Branch Outpost, your river guide will join you who will provide river tubes, headlamps, and life vests.   Guides will also provide an introduction and safety briefing before you start on the 45-minute hike to the entrance of the cave system. Along the way, your guides will spot out flora and fauna of importance to the area.  Once you reach the entrance of the caves your guides will brief you on safety procedure while tubing and then it’s your turn to start cave tubing adventure through the ancient Maya underworld, Xibalba. Complex crystalline structures line the cave and the dignified rise and fall of stalagmites and stalactites add to the peaceful opulence of nature.  On some time, you will rise into the sunlight only to enter into another cave system. This part of the tour is approximately 1.5-2 hours long. The track of the tour circles back on itself and at the end of the cave tubing you back where you began. After returning the cave tubing equipment its time for lunch. Your Belizean lunch includes barbequed chicken, rice and bean and Cold Slaw.  After launch, It's time to explore the rainforest at canopy level. Your guides fit you into the safety gear to ensure a safe adventure for you. You will spend the next 30 to 40 minutes zipping through a series of 7 zip-lines from 10 jungle platforms. It’s a really memorable experience! Once off the zip line, it is time to return to your hotel.

Day 5 - Black Hole Drop

Today continue your Latin America escorted tour with the exciting Black Hole Drop. This highly adventurous trip has been described as a rush like no other! The adventure starts with a steep hike over clad limestone hills that go up, up and up to the edge of a collapsed cave system with a high forest growing out of the center and huge caverns on either end. Here your skilled team of guides prepares you to ease your way over the lip of the cave and lower you down the 300 feet into the fallen cavern's floor. The slow descent allows you to enjoy the view as you pass through the layers of the canopy on your way to the ground. This trip is for the dynamic people and is not recommended for the faint of heart.

Day 6 - Departure

Today your Latin America escorted ends.  After breakfast, we will transfer you to Belize City and you catch your international flight home.
