Day 1: Melbourne to Lorne

Morning
Drive into the beautiful port city of Geelong, which is located at 75 kilometers south-west of Melbourne. Have your launch at one of the many local cafes, also enjoy excellent coffee before you head to Torquay. Torquay is where the Great Ocean Road starts and is often called the ‘Surf Capital of Australia’ offering world-famous Bells Beach.
Afternoon
The great streams continue at Fairhaven and Eastern site, keen surfers should take a stop here -, en route to the beach holiday resort town of Lorne, which is a 50-minute drive from Torquay. Once in Lorne, take a dive in the water or if you want to keep your feet dry then visit the museums and boutiques along the main road. Book quite advance for dinner at a fine dining restaurant, which offers a set menu created from the finest quality local ingredients.

Day 2: Lorne to Port Fairy

Morning
Relish breakfast on the banks of the Erskine River before you head to see the Twelve Apostles, a range of towering limestone pillars extending out of the Southern Ocean. Park at the traveler center and follow the covered pathway to the tower. A 15-minute walk from the Twelve Apostles will take you to Gibson's Steps. Descend the 86 stairs, which are turned into the rock face, to land on the beach, where you'll be rewarded with an excellent view of the Apostles. For another outstanding viewpoint of these geological structures,  you can take a scenic helicopter tour.
Afternoon
Proceed along Shipwreck Coast, named after the storming seas that threw at least 700 ships crashing on the rocks. Visit the coastal town of Warrnambool from where it's a 30-minute drive to Port Fairy where you can walk around the fisherman’s dock and beautiful whitewashed homes before a relaxing night at the boutique hotel.

Day 3: Port Fairy to Coonawarra

Morning
Continue on along the route to the famous township of Portland, an hour drive from Port Fairy. See fishing boats unload their catch on the docks before starting a 10-minute drive to picturesque Cape Nelson Lighthouse. Here you can take a tour to explore the maritime history of the area.
Afternoon
Following on the highway, it is a 50 minutes drive through Nelson and across the South Australian border. Stop at Mount Gambier, which rests on an ancient dead volcano and is surrounded by glowing crater lakes. Come back in the car followed by one hour drive north to Coonawarra, an area famous for its Cabernet Sauvignon. Visit one of the 20 cellar doors, before reaching your hotel, which allows scenic views across the plants.

Day 4: Coonawarra to Victor Harbor

Morning
Traveling half an hour north from Coonawarra, reach the World Heritage-listed Naracoorte Cave National Park, where 26 limestone caves house the fossilized skeletons of monstrous marsupials. Four of the caves are accessible to the public via a self-guided tour. From here it's a three-hour ride to the ancient town of Strathalbyn, where more than 30 heritage-listed buildings rest on the banks of the Angas River. The city is home to masterpiece antique shops and the pleasant Soldiers Memorial Gardens, a perfect spot for a picnic lunch.
Afternoon
Come back into the car followed by the 40-minute drive south to Port Elliot. Swim at Horseshoe Bay or surf off Boomer Beach before reaching nearby Victor Harbor. The seaside town is famous for its horse-drawn tramway and connects Victor Harbor with Granite Island. Travel in the tram across the causeway to Granite Island, which is shelter to a community of little penguins. Spend the night in luxury waterfront hotel with a view of Encounter Bay.

Day 5: Victor Harbor to Adelaide

Morning
Proceed through the curving hills of Mount Compass to the McLaren Vale wine region, a 50-minute ride north from Port Elliot. In the afternoon stop for lunch with a sensational dish at any restaurant.
