DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1:  Yerevan - Welcome to Armenia

This is going to be your first day in Armenia and you will be landing at the airport! You will meet your private guide at the Airport. He will be taking you to your luxurious hotel in Yerevan. Today, you will not be doing too much traveling and sightseeing. Just settle down here in your hotel, relax and unwind a little. And, if you are left with some extra time, you can go for a day trip to Garni and Geghard, which is a spiritual concert in Geghard Monastery.

Garni Temple is built in the Gargi village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia! At one time, this temple was dedicated to the sun god Mihr of Armenia. The temple was built during the 1st century and it survived the destruction that happened during the time when Armenia was converted to Christianity. It was rebuilt during 19th century CE.

Geghard monastery belongs to medieval Armenia and is located in Armenia’s Kotayk province. It has been built out from the adjacent mountain and has been listed in the UNESCO World Heritage sites.

 

Day 2: St. Hripsimeh and St. Gayaneh churches

This day of your exotic Armenia Tours, after breakfast and everything you will be venturing out with your guide on the tour of St. Gayaneh churches, St. Hripsimeh, Zvartnots, and the St. Echmiadzin Cathedral.

St. Gayaneh churches are located in Armenia’s Vargharshapat region! It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed sites that you can’t miss visiting when you are in this area. This church belongs to the 7th century and has been built to commemorate a Nun who was one among the 39 Nuns to have been on the forefront when Armenia was being converted to Christianity.  St. Gayane rejected to accept the advances of Kind of Armenia. AS a result of this she was tortured and then succumbed to death.

St. Hripsimeh is one of the oldest churches of Armenia which has survived till now! The church stands on top of the original mausoleum, which was built in 395 AD by the Catholicos Sahak the Great. The church has been dedicated to the martyred Saint Hripsimé whose remains are there at the mausoleum.

Day 3:  Erebouni museum, Tsitsernakaberd

This is the fourth day of your exotic tour to Armenia and today you will be visiting some of the top tourist attractions in Armenia. After you are done with breakfast and everything, your guide will take you to your first spot that is the Erebouni museum.

Erebouni museum was built in the year 1968 and its inauguration date coincided with Yerevan’s 2750th anniversary. It has been built on the foot of Arin Berd hill. The Urartian Fortress Erebouni stands on top of Arin Berd hill from  782 BCE.

After the Erebouni museum, you will be moving towards TsitsernakaberdMemorial Complex. This one has been built to celebrate the 1.5 million people of Armenia who sacrificed their lives in the first genocide Armenia which was at the hands of the Turkish government. This site is one an integral parts of the architecture of Armenia and an important pilgrimage site.

After you have visited the Erebouni museum if you are still left with time. You can plan out to visit the beautiful Matenadaran. At the end of the day, enjoy a wonderful dinner and get back to your hotel in Yerevan.

 

Day 4: Sardarapa, Ereruyk

This is your fourth day of the exotic Armenia Tour! Today, you will be visiting two of the top tourist attractions of Armenia that is Sardarapat & Ereruyk. Start off a little earlier in the morning. After you are done with breakfast and everything, you will be beginning your trip from Sardarapat.

Sardarapat is sculptural and architectural complex that has been located at around 10 km away from Armavir. It was built in the year 1968 to celebrate the triumph of Armenia over Turkey. On your trip to Sardarapat, your private guide will tell you how the Turkish forces occupied the Ararat valley and then moved towards Sardarapat and Yerevan at the end.

After seeing Sardarapat, you will be moving towards Ereruyk, which is one of the top tourist attractions of Armenia. Ereruyk is located in the Shirak province of Armenia at a distance of around 8 km from Anipemza village on the bank of RiverAkhourian. It has been found to be one of the earliest Christian complexes in Armenia.

 

Day 5: Yerevan - Leisure Day

Day 6: Khor Virap & Noravank

Your first spot today will be  Khor Virap monastery, which is one of the most famous pilgrimages of Armenia. This is the site where a saint was held for a long period of 13 years in a pit. The Khor Virap Monastery was built originally in 642 CE and it was rebuilt in the 17th century. This site held the man for 13 years, who later helped to turn the nation to Christianity. Your Next spot today will be Noravank, which is one of the oldest Monasteries of Armenia. Her you will get to see many religious artifacts.  

 

Day 7: Sanahin & Haghpat

Day 8: Departure
