DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Lima

Most of the trips to Peru starts with the capital city of Lima and so will be yours. After checking into your room and finding your body in its best form, head for the very first activity you will be doing on the land of Lima. It will be an exciting cooking class with the Lima Gourmet Company. People say, the great way to learn about the culture of a country is to learn their food and today, you are going to find it all true. After trying your hands on the traditional cuisines of Peru, go ahead and explore the city on your own. Roam around the local markets and the other famous attractions before driving back to the hotel for dinner.

Day 2-3: Paracas & Huachachina

Wake up early in the morning and by calling early we mean waking up by 4:00 A.M. The reason being the early departure for a 4-hour bus ride that will take you to the Ballestas Islands, a group of rocky islands that are off the Pacific coast near the town of Paracas. Ballestas Islands are among the top-attractions of Peru and visiting them should be on the top of any Peru tour itinerary. The islands are known for their abundant wildlife that have more than 1500 marine birds and a lot of sea lions. You can explore the islands for 2-3 hours by speedboat and enjoy admiring the beautiful caves, arches, and soaring birds.

After the fantastic Ballestas boat tour, you will get some time to have some munchies before leaving for your next destination - Huachachina. So, quickly grab a snack and have it on the bus as the bus will be riding for an hour in order to reach the next destination which is Huachachina, the only desert oasis in South America. Apart from the stunningly beautiful desert, the exciting buggy ride and sand boarding are a few more things that add value to this place. Before getting started with the buggy ride, do have your lunch at one of the nearby restaurants but make sure you eat less to not to get sick out of the buggy ride’s bumps.

The buggy ride is an extremely exhilarating and fun activity which you can try first on the desert. The driver will break up the ride with rest stops to make you feel comfortable with the bumps which you are going to appreciate a lot.

The next activity you will try on this dessert would be Sandboarding. At first glance, you will find the steep slopes a challenge to take but with the help of your guide, you will be able to do so. In the first attempt, you will be guided to start on your tummies. After going down the first slope, the other two will appear like a piece of cake. The experience will end with you watching a lovely sunset.

Day 4: Ollantaytambo

Day four of the trip is going to be a travel day. Today, you will fly from Lima to Cusco and then took a taxi from Cusco to Ollantaytambo. The 2-hour journey from Cusco to Ollantaytambo will break up with a stop in Chinchero which is a quaint town of traditional Peru people. You will stop by the Chinchero Weaving Factory and Demonstration Center and will get to see how locals extract, clean, and dye alpaca fur and also about the traditional weaving process. Seeing these people creating masterpieces would be a great experience. In order to support women working hard on producing such masterpieces, you can buy some items.

Day 5: Machu Picchu

In case, you are not aware of it, let us tell you that Machu Picchu is among the Seven Wonders of the World and your trip to Peru cannot be completed without visiting this masterpiece. So, here you are - on a day trip to Machu Picchu. Explore Machu Picchu and get mesmerized by the ruins, primary temples, and palaces of the Inca citadel. It will be a 2-hour journey in which you will explore Machu Picchu first by bus and then by 25-min shuttle ride.

Things to do in Machu Picchu are many but hiking and trekking the entire place is the best. You can either opt hiking Machu Picchu which is totally free or get enrolled in a 4-day trekking package to get the most out of it. Choose what fits your time and budget as well.

The best season to visit Machu Picchu is October through April as these months are expected to be the dry months of the year. However, do not take this for granted as rain can occur at any time of the year in Machu Picchu. On clear days, you will be able to catch the glimpses of glacier-capped peaks that rise over the valley. Wrap up the day by returning to the station and travel back to Cusco.

Day 6:  Lake Titicaca Tour

This one will be a full day tour wherein you will get to see the world’s highest navigable lake - Titicaca. The floating island of Uros in the vast blue waters will surely give you the best travel memories of all time. Do not forget to delve into the history of Inca settlement while exploring the Spanish colonial prison. End it up by spending a quiet evening at the hotel while recalling all the beautiful things your eyes saw throughout the day.

Day 7: Departure
