Day 2: Egyptian Museum in Cairo

A visit to one of Cairo’s many museums should be on top of every visitor’s list. And there’s no better starting point than popping by the Egyptian Antiquities Museum, which features over 120,000 ancient Egyptian relics. There are several rooms dedicated to various timelines and key events in Egyptian history. Make sure to visit the mummy room and see them unwrapped in front of your eyes!

Day 3: Temple of Karnak

This is the largest religious building in the world, built over 2000 years ago. It’s so enormous that it holds about 10 cathedrals and it is also known as the City of Temples. It contains the great temples of Amun, Khons, and Tuthmosis III. Other attractions include the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Sacred Lake, and Hypostyle Hall. The complex is so impressive that you’ll need to stay for about three hours to appreciate its sheer size.

Day 4: Valley of the Kings

This is a valley where the kings of the 18th to 20th dynasties are buried. About 63 tombs rest here, including that of King Tutankhamun, the boy king who ruled Egypt for about 10 years. The Valley of the Kings will let you explore the different royal tombs of the ancient people – something you shouldn’t miss when you’re in Egypt.  There is vibrant wall art inside, but you are not allowed to take photos. Photography is strictly prohibited inside the Valley of the Kings.

Day 5: Nile Cruise

The Nile Cruise would take you to Aswan via two mandatory stops. Basically, these are the stunning riverside sites i.e. the Temple of Horus at Edfu and the Temple of Sobek, the crocodile god. Visiting all such places on the cruise would consume your entire day 4.

Perhaps, the city would take you on a complete day trip via the Temple of Philae which is located on the Lake Nasser's Agilika Island.
