Welcome to Rwanda. Your arrival in the international airport of Rwanda and escort to your pre-booked hotel room will be included in your Rwanda Safari Tour Package. The moment your flight lands in the city, you will see yourself under the guidance of your guide who will meet you at your hotel. But, before that, you will meet someone from the staff at the exit doors who will escort you to your pre-booked hotel.

Rwanda is a beautiful place and so as its surroundings. The journey from the airport to the hotel is only a few minutes but the scenic views of the country are pretty awesome to be ignored. Do not just sit into the cab and drive to your hotel, but sneak through the window and try to soak the scenic bites of this mesmerizing place. Entire Rwanda is packed with green tropical forests and rolling hills.

After reaching the hotel, you will be guided to your room. Rwanda is a hub of luxurious hotels and resorts but it does have some affordable yet visitor-friendly hotels. Depending upon the type of hotel you have pre-booked for your Rwanda Safari, you will check-in to the same.

No matter what time of the day you have checked-in the hotel, we would like to suggest you not to plan any activity on day one. Reasons for this are many of which revitalizing your body with a relaxed and good night’s sleep is one. So, rather than planning a small outdoor activity on day one, try to limit you in the hotel premises. Enjoy the food, drinks, and the ambiance as you are hardly going to notice it in the coming days and the reason would be thrilling outdoor visits.

Day 2-3: Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and Famous Hotel Rwanda

If you look at the scenic beauty of this place, you will hardly believe to the fact that once it has witnessed some of the most tragic crimes and violence in the world. This says, Rwanda has an extremely deep and tragic history that no one should ignore. You can start spending your second day of the safari in exploring the history of Rwanda. For this, you can visit Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre which does an excellent job of educating visitors about the history of Rwanda by providing an essential space of remembrance and peace.

The best part about the center is the audio guide that narrates the entire history of the country throughout the exhibition. This helps you in getting an in-depth understanding of the horrors that took place in Rwanda in 1994.

Taking the audio guide through the exhibition and displays is highly recommended and well worth paying the extra for, giving you an in-depth understanding of the horrors that took place here in 1994 as it does. Visit the park at your comfort, explore it during the day, and enjoy a small picnic in one of the beautiful garden spaces surrounding it.

In the late afternoon, you can pay a visit to the famous Hotel Rwanda. This is the same hotel that the Hollywood Movie “Hotel Rwanda” narrated. If you have seen the movie, you will connect to the story of this place. The hotel signifies the bravery of a hotel manager who once saved 1238 lives inside this hotel. A visit to the hotel will connect you to the moments of horrors that hundreds of people witnessed inside the hotel. Explore it all and return to your hotel before the dark.

Day 4-5: Volcanoes National Park

If you are in Rwanda but haven’t spotted even one, are you really in Africa? After delving into the history of this place, it’s finally the time to move on and visit something for which Rwanda is not guilty but proud. Today, you will visit the Volcanoes National Park, home to some of the rarest species of mountain gorillas.

Wake up early in the morning, get done with your breakfast, and meet your guide who will brief you about the gorilla trekking. You are expected to visit the park in the early morning around 8-9 AM. The earlier you reach, the more time you will get to spend with your closest primates.

Once inside the park, you will need to listen to two things – one is your guide and second to the hoots of the gorillas. Do listen to them as you must follow the same while enjoying the gorilla trekking experience. Once done, you can start the hike deep into the forest to where the gorillas were seen the night before and track from that point. You can be there till the evening after which you must leave for your place. You may also find the forest raining mildly so, make sure you have a solution for the same. However, getting face to face with gorillas is going to cover all this with surprise and thrills.

Day 6-7: Nyungwe Forest

Who says primates only relate to Gorillas? Even Chimpanzees fall into the family of Primates. Visit the scenic Nyungwe Forest which is actually home to many Rwandan Chimpanzees. A hike in the forest is all you need to soak your eyes with the scenic beauty of the green rolling hills and incredible golden chimpanzees of the forest. In the forest, you will enjoy mesmerizing canopy walks and waterfall hikes. The views of the forest are breathtaking and the countless birds and butterfly species, including the golden monkey population, definitely make it one of the top places in Rwanda. You can easily book two days from your Rwanda Safari tour package for hiking the forest of Nyungwe. For an overnight stay in the forest, you can opt for one of the popular camps in this place.
