Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Welcome to the endearing old capital of Uganda - Entebbe. The first few glimpses of this city would appear as same as you have seen in pictures and it’s because of the fact that city has kept itself least affected from the time effect since last 50 years. Although, the streets might look a bit dustier as compared to the clean American cities, but it matches with an African country image. This is the place where you will be spending your first night in Africa. If reaching in the early afternoon, you will have a chance to relax your feet and explore the city and local cuisines in the evening. You can also take a walk along the Lake Victoria while exploring the old-world buildings of Entebbe.

Day 2: Trekking with the Gorillas

Wake up early in the morning and get done with your breakfast. Today, you be on a incredible trek which will lead you to the man-made habitat of Gorillas. Your guide will meet you in the morning to discuss the schedule of the day and after a small brief, he will escort you to the famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - the home of the mountain gorillas. At the entrance of the park, you will be taught about the Do’s and Don’ts of gorilla trekking which you are supposed to follow sincerely.

Gorilla Trekking in Uganda is quite an expensive affair and that’s why not every traveler visiting Uganda turns to Bwindi. However, the intimate encounter with the gorillas in the park worth every dollar spent on the trekking. Spending an hour with the gorillas under the leadership of a local bushman guarantees that you will not return empty-handed.

In the one hour allotted, you will go through several phases which include following the trail, listening to the hoots, keeping the eyes wide-open, feeling the vibration in the ground, and finally meeting your closest primates - the mountain gorillas. Since, you are allowed to click pictures - without using a flashlight - it is quite easy to capture these moments for a lifetime.

Day 3: Straddle the equator

After spending an adventurous day with the mountain gorillas, it’s time to move on to the center of the earth - the Equator. Book your second day for visiting Uganda’s Equator point where you can actually spot the centre of the earth. The free display made by the locals helps you find the centre easily and you can get it captured in your camera as well. Visiting the center won’t take much time, hence you can utilise the remaining day tasting the exotic delicacies of Uganda. Explore the local markets and restaurants to come up with a great collection to be shown to your loved ones.

Day 4: Kibale National Park - Hike to see the Chimpanzees

After gorillas, if there’s another specie which makes Uganda an exciting place to visit, it would be the Chimpanzees. Hiking the deep jungles of Kibale National Park will lead you to your other primates and they are the Chimpanzees. Book a full day tour to Kibale National Park to spot quirky Chimpanzees swaying from branch to branch. The forest is about 12 Km vast and hence will need you in your best form to complete the trek. Come up prepared, and the Chimpanzees will woo you with their acts.

Day 5: Murchison Falls

Next up is Uganda’s largest national park which offers both land and water safari. Here, we are talking about one of the finest park of Uganda - the Murchison Falls. The place offers you a stunning view of a waterfall which forms when River Nile’s flow is forced to pass through a deep 8 Metre gap and fall into  Devil’s Cauldron as it’s known. As said earlier, the park is open for both land as well as water safari which means opting the both allows you to marvel at sun basking crocodiles, Rothschild giraffe, warthog, buffalo and elephants.

Day 6:  Semuliki National Park

Semuliki National Park is a remote national park in the far west of Uganda. It witnesses the existence of forest elephants who are known for creating the walking trails in Semuliki. Since the animal encounters are unpredictable at Semuliki, hence it is the least visited parked in the Uganda Safari. Add this park in your Uganda Safari itinerary to taste the unique side of the Africa. Spend time with the elephants, watch them from a distance, and relax in an all-natural environment.

Victoria falls is one of the best waterfalls of the world and you will get to see it from the bottom to the top on the day two of your Zimbabwe safari. Once you are done with the morning breakfast, take a self-guided walking trail that runs parallel with the falls. Wander your eyes from a three-seater plane and marvel at the stunning scenery that comes out from this world’s largest waterfall. Give a deep look to the fact how the Zambezi river will pick up speed before disappearing into a canyon that sparkles with exotic colors. With such a splendid backdrop, you can click as many pictures as you want. These gorgeous scenes from Uganda’s treasure trove deserve to be captured by your camera lens.
