Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Uganda

Meet your private guide at Kigali International airport, who will transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you can proceed to the dining area, where you will be served a good morning meal provided by the hotel staff. When you are done with your breakfast, you can leave the hotel and cross over to Uganda at Katuna for a stop at Kabale town (Katuna) or Kisoro (Chanika) before you proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Trekking in Bwindi National Park

Wake up early in the morning to grab a bite at the lodge before you head to the park headquarters for a briefing about Dos and Donts while mountain gorillas trekking. After a brief, start your trek into the forest guided by researchers and guides. During your trek, you may encounter many birds, other animals, and primates in the forest. Once you have found the gorillas, you will spend four hours with them and return to the lodge for an overnight stay. After lodging, you will be able to listen to and observe researchers doing their work on habituated gorillas.

Day 3: Natural Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your morning meal, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, located in western Uganda, and arrive in time for lunch at Elephant Hab Lodge. This will offer you a short relaxation and an evening game drive in the savannah plains of Kasenyi, where you will see wild animals like buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, and big wild cats such as lions and leopards depending on your luck or the time you visit the place. In the evening, return to your lodge for an overnight stay and hit your bed after trying the traditional dishes in your dinner.

Day 4: Cruising on Kazinga Channel

Wake up early in the morning and head back to the plains of Kasenyi for a morning game drive to find out what you missed the previous day. The game drive is a quintessential safari activity enjoyed in the morning. This adventure game drive entails viewing wildlife in the comfort of an open Land Rover.

 

This game drive will take your first half of the day, and head to the lodge for lunch in the second half. Lunch will be served at the lodge, and later, head to the jetty along the Kazinga channel for the afternoon boat cruise. This boat cruise lets you see hippos, water birds, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, and other wildlife that flock to the channel for drinking water.

Day 5: Driving to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, your guide will drive you in a private vehicle to the northern bank of Queen Elizabeth National Park (Kasenyi) area in search of wild animals, including elephants, buffalos, wild cats, Savanna birds, and different species of antelopes such as waterbuck Uganda kobs, among others. This will take half of your day, and you will return to your lodge at lunchtime. 

Day 6: Enjoying Chimp Trekking

This day is reserved for Chimp trekking. After your morning meal, be transferred to Kibale National Park headquarters at Kanyakyu to join other trekkers for the briefing. This tour will be led by a well-trained guide who will take you on a guided primate walk inside Kibale Forest National Park. After entering this forest, get a full-fledged opportunity to visit one of the habituated communities of chimpanzees.

 

You can spend an hour with them and dont forget to capture these precious moments with your camera. After spending hours here, leave for Kibale National Park, home to 11 other primate species and forest birds. After your chimpanzee trek, drive to Bigodi Village for a wetland walk designed to benefit the local community living around Kibale Forest National Park. In the evening, return to the lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Heading to Lake Bunyonyi

Today, your guide will drive you in a private vehicle from Kibale Forest National Park to Lake Bunyonyi. This drive will be long and scenic, so you can relax in the lodge to break the journey to Kigali. It is one of the three lava lakes formed when lava flowing from one of the volcanoes blocked a river channel. Wonder at the water body, one of the deepest lakes in Uganda and the second deepest in East Africa. Most tourists visit Lake Bunyonyi for its beauty and to relax after a long safari.

Day 8: Adventurous Canoeing

The last day of the Uganda safari tour calls to admire the beauty of the lake and its surrounding hills. After breakfast, leave early for a canoe ride on the lake to explore the islands with exciting histories. It is worth visiting Punishment Island on the last day of the Uganda safari tour.

 

This island is famous for the girls who produce babies from a legitimate traditional marriage and live on this island. This activity will take your whole day, and you will surely enjoy it. Afterward, if time permits, you can hike one of the hills around Lake Bunyonyi. When you have enjoyed the day here, drive to Katuna Border and head for Kigali to catch a late flight to your home.

Day 9: Departure

Today, your private guide will transfer you to the airport for your international departure.
