Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi

Today you begin your Vietnam journey by boarding your international flight to Hanoi. On reaching Hanoi, you are greeted by your private guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day will be free for you to relax or explore the city at your own pace. You can make your way to visit the Hoan Kiem Lake, which is at a short walk from your hotel. It's gorgeously lit up at night.

Day 2: Hanoi Exploration

Today morning, youll embark on a private city tour accompanied by your guide. Make your way to Ho Chi Minh's former home, the Fine Arts Museum having a wonderful collection of art and sculpture and the Temple of Literature - the very first university in Hanoi. The Hanoi tour comes to an end in the citys busy Old Quarter before you return back to your hotel in the afternoon.

Day 3: One Day Tour of Haiphong

Get ready to be transferred to Haiphong today, where you embark on traditional Vietnamese junk. Cruise around Lan Ha Bay's numerous limestone islets and caves in the afternoon and witness the sun setting over the calm waters before you relish a delicious dinner under the stars. All meals are going to be included during your stay on board.

Day 4: Venturing to Hue

Today morning, youll wake up witnessing sunrise over the bay. Continue cruising before you return back to Hanoi airport in the afternoon for your flight to Hue. Youll have your lunch in Hanoi and will also engage in some further exploring before it is time to reach the airport. Fly to Hue in the evening and check into your city hotel.

Day 5: Exploring Hue

After breakfast, head out for a tour around some of Hue's significant historical sights including the mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc and the citadel accompanied by your guide. Later, try your hand at crafting bamboo paper art known as Trucchi.

Day 6: Cycling Tour of Hue

Embark on a cycling tour this morning through some of Hue's more rural areas and some stops organized at local houses en route. Enjoy overnight stay in a traditional garden house and relish a home-cooked meal with ingredients straight from the garden.

Day 7: Heading to Hoi An

Today, youll be driven from Hue to Hoi An. The journey is going to take about three and a half hours. Youll pass rich rice paddy fields and traverse over the Hai Van Pass, which on a clear day has magnificent views out to the South China Sea and the Lang Co peninsula. In the afternoon, take out time to relax or take a stroll around the quaint riverside town of Hoi An.

Day 8: Hoi An Exploration Tour

Explore the UNESCO town of Hoi An today accompanied by your private guide to offer his expert knowledge. The historic district of the city is filled with 16th-century buildings, once a significant trading post for international tourists. Afterward, youll be driven out to the medieval Cham ruins at My Son, which is a series of Hindu temples that have now been claimed by the enormous jungle surrounding them. The afternoon is free to relax and explore at your own pace. You can also try out the hotel's pool to relax after the day's exploration.

Day 9: Traveling to Kon Tum

Today, youll depart from Hoi An, traverse inland to join the Ho Chi Minh Trail to Kon Tum stopping at Ngoc Hoi for lunch.

Day 10: Kon Tum Exploration

Get ready this morning for a full day exploration of Kon Tum and the surrounding area including village visits, some easy trekking and a tour of the town itself.
 

Day 11: Visiting Buon Ma Thuot

Youll be driven to Buon Ma Thuot today, via Pleiku, known for its battlefields during the Vietnam War.
 

Day 12: Traversing to Dalat

This morning, make your way to an outstanding Ethnology Museum. Continue your voyage south through the central highlands, crossing through splendid mountain scenery, to the former French colonial hill station of Dalat for an exploration of this eccentric town. 

Day 13: Trekking Experience in Dalat

The second day in Dalat to enjoy trekking and around Tuyen Lam Lake. Relish the beautiful mountain views and pristine lakes.

Day 14: Heading to Saigon

Today, youll leave Dalat and head on to Saigon as you depart the hill station and continue in southern Vietnam accompanied by your private guide. Upon arrival, you'll meet your private guide. On your way to Saigon, stop at the Cu Chi tunnels and learn a little more about the Vietnam war as well as the guerrilla tactics of the Viet Cong. If you are comfortable with narrow spaces, it is possible to enter a few of the tunnels and see exhibitions and videos of the tunnels when they were in use. In the evening, embark on a captivating discovery of Saigon on the back of a Vespa as part of a small group tour. Try out delicious street food, relish local music and experience the city from your experienced local guides viewpoint.

Day 15: Day Tour of Saigon

Embark this morning on a full day tour to a quaint area of Vietnam's Mekong Delta region. You will traverse using different means of transport, get to know about local farming practices and relish a freshly cooked meal in a local home. This is an interesting way to see the unperturbed side of the country.
 

Day 16: Departure Back Home

After breakfast today, you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the airport by your private guide for your onward flight.
