Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Tromso – The City of Lights!

Tromso lies above the Arctic Circle and it is supposedly the cultural hub of Norway. Located in the Northern Norway, the city is considered as the center for viewing the Northern Lights which get to light up the entire sky at night. And, the old wooden houses completely distinguish this historic center. This city of lights will lure you for sure! The way this place is situated makes it a majestic one and the urban scene is lively more that you have ever expected. The Mountains extend wonderfully in different directions. And, when the lights start shining after the dark hours, you will feel like going to the restaurants into the cozy fires. You will land in Tromso and then you can walk to the base for exploring the most beautiful of the Tromso’s attractions. Once you get a little familiar with the city, you will understand why it’s called as the Paris of the Arctic. You can choose to dine at Fjellstua; you will find tasty food here along with a picturesque view.

Day 2: Kirkenes – Witness the Beauty!

Kirkenes is a small city situated in the Northern Norway and is close to the Russian and Finnish Border. The city is particularly known for the beautiful Northern Lights and view of the Aurora Borealis. And, the Borderland Museum highlights the long history of the region. The Monuments of the Russian soldiers has been built as a commemorative gesture for the liberation of the areas from the Nazi occupation in 1994 from the Red Army. The Snow hotel of the city is built every year from the fresh snow and it is one of the attractions of the place. Some of the interesting activities to take up here are hiking, fishing, bird watching and boat trips. For knowing its history, Eastern Finnmark has to be on your list. Hamningberg is a scenic old fishing village which is located at the Varanger National Tourist Route. This is one of those places that was not destroyed by Germans at end of II World War.

Day 3: Honningsvag to Kjollefjord – Marvels of the North Cape

You will be an eye-witness to the ragged cliffs, ice all through in different directions and the beautiful landscape of snow. You will always be close to the scenic beauty when you are here bumping and jumping through the ports lest you reach Honningsvag. At this point, you will be only less than two thousand Kilometers from the North Pole, 71-degree North. You will feel like being at the edge of the world building a close connection with the North Pole. Now you can head on to Gjesvaerstappan, a birding safari. Here, you will see around 250,000 seabirds flying and fluttering all above their nesting sites. Puffins, here, waddle all through the cliffs, and this will the most memorable part of your visit. Arctic skuas, Kittiwakes, cormorant, guillemots and northern fulmars are also found here in large numbers.

Day 4: Kaksluattanen – A Glass Igloo Beneath the Northern Lights

You will need to make an early start on the fourth day tour of Norway! It’s worth noting here that, during the winter season, dawn is quite late in the Arctic circles and you will be needed to leave for your hotel before dawn. You will get to spend your first night across the glass igloo while you into Finland you cross over the border. These igloos are built from special kind of thermal glass and they help in keeping the temperature of the room comfortable and warm. This is like a high-class hotel room that has beautiful view. And, there isn’t any place for diving into the Northern Lights.

Day 5: Ivalo – Your Final Departure

People from all around the world flock to Ivalo! The place welcomes various chartered flights from Britain and various other countries and it has the Northmost airport in the Finland. And, all through the year, one can notice, Russians and Norwegian shoppers. Every day, the grocery shops welcome their customers from morning until the night.
