Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Siem Reap

Meet your private guide at the Siem Reap airport, and transfer to your hotel. Get settled into your hotel's contemporary amenities, where the rooms feature views of the thick jungle trees and the lovely pool. Discover the cool, invigorating breeze at Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake. Watch the neighborhood longtail boats cruising the water. When you arrive at a floating settlement, you'll instantly see the stilts that keep the structures from sinking.

Day 2: The Illumination of Angkor

Reach the gates of the celebrated Angkor Wat. The complex stretches over 390 square miles. Overlooking the temple are five towers, each of which is designed like a beehive. Images from Hindu and Buddhist myths are etched into the sandstone walls of this temple, which dates to the 12th century. When you exit the top gallery, you will come to a courtyard that is enclosed by a grand colonnade.

Day 3: Mysteries to Hold

Enjoy the decadent aroma of freshly pressed coffee emanating from the French Quarter. Visit Beng Mealea, a collection of temples that has preserved much of its mysticism. The building, which was built in the 12th century and had the same layout as Angkor Wat, was eventually abandoned and returned to nature. Investigate the fascinating carvings buried in the debris and vegetation. The serpent deity Naga's lengthy bodies are used to decorate walkways. Observe monks perched atop a few of the pillars. They stand out from the surrounding lush vegetation with their saffron robes. Identify a compelling link between nature and the ruins.

Day 4: Intersecting History

Make your way to Banteay Chhmar and the 12th-century temples that have inspired and impressed people for centuries. Banteay Top is set amongst scenic rice paddy fields. The elaborate carvings on the temple span 21,500 square feet. The bas-relief on the eastern wall shows a Khmer and Cham naval conflict. The surrounding forest is serene and peaceful. The atmosphere is serene and powerful.

Day 5: More Contemporary History

Make your way to Battambang, the second-largest city in Cambodia. The boulevards are spacious and welcoming. The Sangkae River crosses the city with a gentle stream. On the riverbanks, cafes provide a wonderful ambiance. Observe the French architecture in the city center, which provides a glimpse of the French colonial past and gives the historic district a touch of architectural beauty. The buildings that have survived continue to convey the influence and strength of the French during their colonial rule. Look for beautiful examples of 20th-century architecture to admire. Settle into your hotel, where the opulent dcor and style lend a hint of the unique and majestic Cambodian spirit.

Day 6: Glimpsing the Countryside

Make your way to Phnom Penh. Visit the town of Oudong, which is situated at the base of Oudong Mountain, on the way. For former monarchs of Cambodia, the mountain continues to be an amazing necropolis. Visit the mountain's impressive silver stupa. The temple, which increases the summit's height significantly, is a concentric spire. The doorway is exquisitely ornamented with geometric patterns. From the village to the summit of the mountain, there are more than 500 stairs. Find the breathtaking temples of the countryside by stepping away from the bustling city streets. At your hotel, which is conveniently located in Phnom Penh, you may relax. Views of the city at night, glistening with incredible light, are accessible from the rooftop.

Day 7: Rebounding Cities

Visit the Victory Tower, which stands tall at the edge of a monumental boulevard with a view of the water. The structure pays homage to past soldiers that stood for the betterment of the country. After breakfast, venture out to the Royal Palace complex, which dates back to the 19th century. It is a charming building along the waterfront and displays French architecture constructed during the colonial era. Visit Security Prison 21, also known as S-21. It was once a school turned into a prison camp by the Khmer Rouge totalitarian dictatorship in the 1970s. Witness the unbreakable spirit of the city, the country, and its people as you walk through the museum.

Day 8: Discovery in the Trees

Travel to the Takeo Province. Take a trip to Phnom Da, a historic Funan site with 11th-century remains. The 59-foot-tall temple looks northward toward the former capital Nokor Phnom. Investigate the hill's five man-made caves. Each cave is embellished with Shiva lingams and other Brahman devotional symbols. Continue on to Kampot, where you will find your hotel's calming luxuries. The hotel is housed in a classic French villa and is set on a street bordered with lush trees. The noises of the early evening can be heard coming from the riverfront.

Day 9: Finding the Seaside

Follow the river to reach the opulent resort beaches of Kep, leaving the picturesque riverside village of Kampot behind for the day. In the early 1900s, the village served as a getaway for the French aristocracy. It is situated on the banks of magnificent blue waters today and has a laid-back, peaceful atmosphere. Ascend through Kep National Park to the pagoda-adorned peak at 2,624 feet. Near the top, a robust wooden walkway leads to Sunset Rock through some woods. Take in the breathtaking shoreline. The sea is a beautiful blue, and the trees are emerald. Enjoy a boat at sunset before spending the evening in Kampot.
