Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

Today you will begin your Egypt journey by boarding your international flight to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, you are met by your private guide at the airport and driven to your accommodation. After check-in and settling down, you can either spend some relaxing time in the comforts of your room or can head out to see the city a little bit.

Day 2: Exploring Cairo

One of the largest cities in Africa, Cairo has stood for over 1,000 years on the same site on the banks of the Nile, mainly on the eastern shore, some 500 miles downstream from the Aswan High Dam. Situated in the northeast of the country, Cairo is also the gateway to the Nile delta, where the lower Nile discrete into the Rosetta and Damietta branches. Cairo is chaos at its most majestic, infuriating and alluring.

Today, after breakfast, you are met by your private guide at your hotel for a full day tour of the pyramids at Giza, Saqqara, and Dashur. At Dashur, you can visit its Bent Pyramid, one of the earliest attempts at pyramid architecture. Traverse inside the Red Pyramid before moving on to view the stepped pyramid of Saqqara. Complete with the most iconic and largest pyramids at Giza.

Day 3: More of Cairo

This megacity’s consistent buzz and noise is a product of its 22-or-so million inhabitants that are simultaneously crushing Cairo's infrastructure under their collective weight and elevating its spirits up with their exceptional humor. It is said that “If you love Cairo, it will love you back”!

This morning, enjoy a day at leisure to explore the city of Cairo under your own steam. Cairo Museum is a definite highlight for you or alternatively, you can also explore the souqs.

Day 4: Heading to Aswan

Today morning, you are going to have an early start for a private transfer to the airport to catch your short internal flight to Aswan where you will be boarding your Nile cruise ship. After you settle down into your cabin, disembark for a guided tour to the High Dam and the Temple of Philae. You can then sail to Kom Ombo in order to visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris.

Day 5: Another day in Aswan

On the northern-most end of the First Cataract, marking ancient Egypt's southern frontier, Aswan has always been of great strategic significance. In ancient times, Aswan was a garrison town for the military campaigns against Nubia. There are a number of things to see here, but it is definitely not a place to hurry. The river is wide, languorous and gorgeous here, flowing gently down from Lake Nasser around dramatic black-granite boulders and palm-studded islands.

The large island of Seheyl and the village of Gharb Seheyl, located just north of the old Aswan Dam, have plenty of laid-back guesthouses and provide an opportunity to swim in the river. These are perfect places to hang out for a few days and recover from the stress of traveling and temple-viewing.

After breakfast, make a visit to the Temple of Horus in Edfu, where your private guide takes you through the different halls and antechambers, narrating their significance before you reach the inner Sanctuary of Horus. You then can sail on to Esna and cross its popular lock. The rest of your day will be spent sailing to Luxor, and witnessing the rural Nile scenery pass by.

Day 6: Some more time in Aswan

Today morning,  head out to the West Bank at Luxor. In the Valley of the Kings, you will get this opportunity to go into a tomb, in order to view the vividly well-preserved hieroglyphics that are decorating the walls. You will also make a visit to the Temple of Hatchepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.

Day 7 Departure for Home

Today morning, after you have your last breakfast at Egypt, make a visit to the Temples of Karnak and Luxor on Luxor's east bank before you catch your flight to Cairo, for your onward journey. Your final international return flight will arrive the same day.
